margaritagal Posted November 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2004 All the Carnival ships have a 'topless' deck. I was wondering if the NCL ships do. In particular the Dream.
Tomct Posted November 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2004 All the Carnival ships have a 'topless' deck. I was wondering if the NCL ships do. In particular the Dream. If I were on that cruise I would have said it's OK, but in reality, from other posts I recall, NCL doesn't have such a policy. Good Luck! I'm sure you'll be happy with the Margaritas. sailfool Posted November 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2004 Have not seen any topless decks on NCL... first Carnival cruise coming soon.... (location and price).... not sure wife would let me visit the topless deck though:D .
margaritagal Posted November 22, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted November 22, 2004 Thank you for the info, gentlemen. Now this leaves me hoping that my balcony has some sun on that Dec.12th sailing! I REFUSE to have tan lines on my upper half when I head home to Nebraska. Thanks again.
sailfool Posted November 23, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2004 Margaritagal, Hopefully the sun will cooperate with you. I've always been able to catch a few rays sitting on the balcony.... just have to catch it the right time of day.
RobandJoelle Posted November 27, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I plan on laying topless as well....its MY VACATION!!! Find me marcia..lol, we can start a trend. Hahaha.....I mean, after all, what is the big deal?? See ya on the sun deck!!!:D \joelle
margaritagal Posted November 29, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted November 29, 2004 Joelle, you're right......it's OUR vacation! Would a little 'top half of swimsuit optional' area be so bad for people like us?? I would promise not to get up and run around the ship and offend people. RobandJoelle Posted November 29, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 29, 2004 I see no difference in the men wearing the disgusting FRUIT PACKERS..ick.
margaritagal Posted November 30, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted November 30, 2004 I'm with you, Joelle. Enough of the Speedos....unless he has a 'perfect' body, he should be wearing good old fashioned swim trunks! So what area should we set aside for our 'tops optional' sunning area?? GregInCharlotte Posted November 30, 2004 #10 Share Posted November 30, 2004 If you gals decide to designate a topless area on the deck I'd be happy to volunteer to act as guard. What'd I do??
margaritagal Posted December 1, 2004 Author #11 Share Posted December 1, 2004 I'll just have to speak with Joelle about designating a 'topless deck.' Since this will be a 'new' thing for NCL, we sunbathers might NEED a watchman/guard. You know, to keep away those guys who wear the RayBan 'one way' sunglasses! CHARLESV32 Posted December 2, 2004 #14 Share Posted December 2, 2004 I am also on the same cruise as Maragaritagal. But i am pretty sure my girlfriend would beat me senseless if I act as a guard..
nu2cruzin03 Posted December 2, 2004 #15 Share Posted December 2, 2004 The very top deck of the Dawn, by the helicopter pad, would be a great place for a topless area. A "warning sign" could be posted at the bottom of the stairs leading to the deck saying: "warning: topless area - if you are offended by the sight of possible bare breasts, please proceed with caution" :D Rick. GregInCharlotte Posted December 2, 2004 #16 Share Posted December 2, 2004 All the guys would go to the helicopter pad and all that combined weight in one place would cause the ship to capsize;)
margaritagal Posted December 2, 2004 Author #17 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Where are you, Joelle? People have been nice enough to find us our own deck for sunbathing! Granted, it's by the helicopter pad but that's OK by me. So now we have our own deck AND offers of a watchman. And some guy whose girlfriend will beat him senseless if he visits! Someone has even offered to make a 'warning' sign.
margaritagal Posted December 2, 2004 Author #18 Share Posted December 2, 2004 OK, I now know that the Dawn has a helicopter pad as a possible location for topless sunbathing. BUT....HELP....I will be on the Dream! Any possible locations there?
salty dingo Posted December 3, 2004 #19 Share Posted December 3, 2004 The very front of the bow is usually empty. If you could figure a way to get there you would certainly have the place by yourself. Only drawbacks would be the bridge staring down at you and the webcam. madelinerose Posted December 3, 2004 #21 Share Posted December 3, 2004 Just don't understand the big deal about topless. When we were on the Carnival Miracle in October, there were always people on the topless deck and no one was ever gawking. nu2cruzin03 Posted December 3, 2004 #22 Share Posted December 3, 2004 I agree, Madelinerose. It certainly should not be an issue, especially if a specific area is reserved for topless sunbathing. I not seen any topless female sunbathing on the Dawn, however ;) Rick Norwegian Dawn June 1, 2003 Norwegian Dawn May 23, 2004 Norwegian Dawn February 10, 2005 (10-day Caribbean)
karfest Posted December 3, 2004 #23 Share Posted December 3, 2004 My daughters and I snuck up to the topless deck on Carnival just to see what all the fuss was. There were no women, only a few forlorn men waiting for some excitement. The men weren't even topless. --after watching TV in Europe- what must they think of Americans getting so worked up over the nudity issue:eek:

elladog Posted December 3, 2004 #25 Share Posted December 3, 2004 People will continue to get worked up by this issue so long as they confuse "topless" with some sort of feral excitement - an attitude evident from some posts here. Grow up and get over it !
