I can't believe that this has resurfaced! I was the OP!!!! There was no 'topless deck' on the Dream in 2004 nor was there one on the Star in January 2006. :(

So now we have a lively 'topless thread' on the Carnival board and a 'revived thread' here.

 I't may be nice not to have lines, but i'ts very risky healthwise....

as a female don't recomend to take off your top...

I have to admit that this doesn't make sense to me. Are "the girls" (wink, wink) going to absorb more harmful rays than my other parts (tummy, back, what have you)? I always use lots and lots of sunscreen (much more than I use on the areas that see the sun often). I just don't believe that it's that much more dangerous tanning with a bikini top (or tankini top, whichever) off rather than on.

All tanning has that risk, but then again I get far to bored just lying around and toasting in the sun. I'm never out there for more than 30 minutes at a time anyway. Even as a teen my summer tan was incidental from the fact that I was a swimmer, not because I laid out all day. I've never had a deep tan, just a light bit of color in the summer.
