Regatta Scandinavian Splendors summer 2010 - advice please

We are going to book Regatta for this cruise (assuming it is offered) for summer 2010. Rates are not published yet.

Where is the best cabin location on the ship for this trip?

Is the balcony worth it ( ie did you use it - was weather conducive to sitting on the balcony?)

Is there a reason to start in Stockholm or start in London?

What month is best for this cruise? June, July, August?

Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Month of trip depends on whether you like crowds, warmer weather or not.

we did a Baltic cruise (not on O) in June it was great not too many people in SPB but warm enough to enjoy walking around the towns.

We took a light fleece jacket we used on many days & a rain jacket.

Cabin location if you are subject to motion sickness I would book mid ship or towards the aft

They are all good just location differs, again personal choice.

Fly in a day or more early & enjoy the port city ..it gives your body time to adjust to the jet lag so you are not sleeping the day away when you board

enjoy

Thanks

We prefer June - is a balcony usable at that time?

There will not be any snow so it will be usable.;)

It depends on your degree of comfort

..we were there mid June it was 74F in SPB but it could be cool in the mornings

You can check previous weather conditions for your ports at

It will also be light 22 to 23 hrs a day ...sunset at 10:30 pm

We did the same trip in June and loved it. We always have a balcony and used it constantly, except for the Channel crossing. We went from Dover and I don't think it matters which way you go, but we loved the England first itinerary. We also had a balcony room directly in the front of the ship--the only problem was a rocky crossing for a few hours. Otherwise, we loved being in the front and seeing the full horizon. Our only mistake was not flying in a day or so earlier. ddcruiser
