Rare Woobstr112G Posted February 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2009 Need some help......Just booked our flights and decided to do something a little different. Instead of flying straight into Copenhagen for the start of our cruise, I decided to surprise DW and stop off in Paris for two days then fly on to CPH. Need reccomendations for a decent hotel for our two nights. Something kinda in the middle which won't kill my pocketbook and will be a better than motel 6. Thanks in Advance for you help...... 49er Posted February 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2009 Hello Bob, My wife stayed a week at the Hotel Valadon a few years ago. It is located right next to Rue Cler and close to the Eiffel tower. This is a very popular hotel in Paris and usually is booked up well in advance. Check out Tripadvisor or their own website http://www.hotelvaladon.com/index.htm. BTW we boarded the Diamond just as your cruise was ending in Auckland. Just about have the jet (and day) lag whipped by now. It was great trip and we are looking forward to visiting that part of the world again 49er

CruisenOne Posted February 19, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2009 We stayed at the Best Western - Left Bank - St. Germain for five days. Great - Quaint Hotel. And, Reasonable. Do not left "Best Western" fool you. Go to Trip Advisor. Very good restraunt on the street behind the Hotel. Restraunt next door is very good; Sea food. From what I recall, paid about 50 Euro from CDG. Enjoy your trip.
jagsfan Posted February 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2009 Bob, check the California.....a block off the Champs Elysee......when I've stayed there, they had a wonderful breakfast included....very comfortable beds. The Champs Elysee metro station is very close. I meant to write this on the Roll Call thread. Mimi Need some help......Just booked our flights and decided to do something a little different. 49er Posted February 19, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2009 Bob, I should have mentioned, if this is your 1st trip to Paris, believe me, 2 nights is just not going to be enough time to see this beautiful city. You won't want to leave:-) Also I neglected to say that my wife "AND I" stayed at the Valadon. Lazy typing skills today. 49er BTW, we are thinking about doing the same cruise (transatlantic from Copenhagen to FL) in 2010. The North Atlantic can make that cruise quite an "adventure" that time of year. Have a great trip.
Miss Jolly Posted February 19, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2009 We stayed at Hotel dieu Hospitel which is right opposite Notre dame - so a very handy location. The rooms are adequate and very clean and the hotel staff are VERY helpful. The rooms are well priced for Paris too. Here is their website http://www.hotel-hospitel.com. Yes, the rooms are on the 6th floor of the hospital. My family used to pick up inexpensive and delicious baguets (for lunch later in the day)at the hospital cafeteria before heading out for the day. crittermom Posted February 20, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 20, 2009 We stayed at the Hotel Splendid Tour Eifel in the 7th arrondissement. Our balcony have a beautiful view of the Eifel Tour and it was a quaint neighborhood and close to a metro stop. Lots of cute bistros. 105 euros a night right now. DW is favoring the Paris Marriott on the Champs Elysees but I'll look into the California and run it up the flagpole.
