Favorite resort in the Canary Islands???

Hello!

We're looking to spend a week pre-cruise in Dec. in the Canary Islands - - somewhere! LOL

There are SOOOOOO many choices and I'm at a loss as to where to start.

We are a family of 4, with 2 kids age (then) 6 & 8 - very active, love watersports, the beach, and of course would like to have kids activities or a play room/play groun on site.

Any thoughts??

Thank you in advance!

Hi, I've only stayed in Tenerife and IMHO much of the south is a bit of a tacky dump - particularly the Playa de Las Americas area. And if you try to walk anywhere outside of your resort, you're constantly harrassed by pushy timeshare sellers.

The North of Tenerife is far prettier but very cloudy.

Many people I know have stayed in Lanzarote and loved it. I've heard good things about the H10 resorts there.

well I would say Tenerife is my favourite. Adeje is a nice area and many nice hotels and as much water sports that you want. There is not much hassle in that area from Timeshares but we are also going to Lanzarote on Tuesday and staying in CostaTeguise as they are digging up the roads in PDC. We will see how that goes.

Lanzarote is my favourite but I second Debbymark's comment about the Adeje area of Tenerife. That said, Fuertaventura is very popular with windsurfers and there are quite a lot of new properties there with excellent facilities for families.
