I have read this same news on other CC boards/posts.

Some posts have reported that ships are diverting to Dominica, Do-meen-eeca) (not Dominican Replublic) - if so and you're a nature lovers you'll enjoy Dominca. Geographicaly, Dominica is located between Guadalupe & Martiique. They are fully English speaking, historically been under a mix of British & French rule. You may want to visit the ports of call Dominca threads for more info on Dominica. Personally have traveled there 3 x on land holidays. It is very undeveloped and probbaly the most genuienely friendly, courteous and non-pretentious people I've ever met. They are also appreciative of tourist contributions to their economy.

It ia very unspoiled area ecologially, with NO chain hotels and reminds me of une petite Hawaii before it was overtaken by over developed tourism.

I hope you do get the opportunity to visit the country of Dominica.

Regards,

Leah, RN:)
