Day pass at Mexican Riviera hotels

Anyone with kids has to go to El Cid! They have an unbelieveable pool!! We just timeshared there last summer and my 8 yr old twins ( yes, there are alot of us?!) just loved the pool. It has a rock island where kids can climb all over it with a slide and little tunnels that run through it. It is also just steps from the sand. You can run back and forth or just sit in th swim up bar and wave to your kids as they walk by. It was very safe, and clean. I believe there is a fee to use it, but its very worth it. Your kids will never stop talking about it.

BigGal1579 - I hope you are still watching this thread. Your comments after your cruise are GREAT - not just 3rd hand info from something someone else said on a cruise way in the past.

Did you go to the Krystal in PV and El Cid in Mazatlan? Any cost for the day pass? Any hassles for using their facilities? Do they have lounge chairs and umbrellas? Do we need to go early to get the lounge chairs? Any adult slides or other cool stuff?

Thanks,

Diane

Hi Di,

We were at those resorts last week. No cost at either one. Take the shortcut down the side street from the ship to the Krystal, it's a long walk using the main drag, do you have directions for the shortcut? Take ship towels for the Krystal, they don't supply them. The have loungers, no umbrellas at the pool, just at the loungers on their beach. Yes you need to get there early, gets very busy around lunch. Get there before lunch and order lunch from the waiter. Great view. Several pools, waterfalls, no slides that we saw.

At El Cid the waiter will get you towels and drinks, he needs your ID for the towels, you get it back when you return the towels to the pool kiosk. Again no umbrellas at the pool, just the thatched ones on the beach. Don't need to get there early, tons of them, 2 large pools. Have lunch at the north pool cafe, La Concha, lovely setting and view. Ignore the El Cid timeshare ppl at the dock and in the lobby, walk right to the pool and let the waiter take care of you.
