Shavers Only - What's the Deal?

I've been on 8 Carnival cruises and have always noticed the outlet in the bathroom near the ceiling and it says "Shavers Only"

 

Anyone know what story behind this?

It's a very low amperage circuit that suitable pretty much for only electric razors...

It's likely a safety requirement. They can't have a high amperage circuit in the bathroom because those bathrooms are so small and there is a reasonable chance of the outlet getting wet.

And with the small amount of counter space, some fool would plug in a hairdryer and drop it in the sink...But I have found on other ship with the same caveat on the bathroom outlet that I could plug in a nightlight in (but that doesn't work on Carnival because the plug doesn't work unless the light switch is on), and battery charger for camera, etc. EM

Or bring one of those plugs that has three plugs on it or an extension cord which will give you two more plugs.
