Rare Woobstr112G Posted March 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2009 With the economy in the tank, I have noted, as I'm sure the rest of you have, the deals that cruise lines are offering. My question is as follows: For my upcoming cruise on the Emerald, I've noted that there are several high end suites that have yet to be sold. On the chance that some will be available just before sailing, what do you think the cruise lines will do with the unsold inventory. Bob I have seen the cruise line give complimentary upgrades when full suites don't sell, and I have seen full suites sail empty. I have yet to see Princess discount full suites though, unfortunately. You just never know. ;)
Chili64 Posted March 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2009 Hi, You need to have it noted in your booking that you are interested in an upgrade & you could here from them around 7 days out with special deals. Good luck
venusbello1 Posted March 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2009 They had two or three OS and one PS available up until the morning of the cruise and they offered them to those with high-end elite status. VB1
frbob Posted March 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2009 Captain's Club status doesn't seem to matter from our experiences. The Upgrade Fairy is a PIG! We recently had a very noisy balcony cabin on one of the smaller Princess ships and asked if they could relocate us. We were told they had no cabins available. We knew better! We took inventory by marching through the ship and counting the blank name slots on cabin doors. There were 27 cabins available in our category. We insisted. We were finally allowed to enter the domain of the quiet cabin. How fortunate we are that we cruise frequently. We are blessed!!!
Latitude 20 Posted March 7, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2009 On our Pacific Princess TA in December they sailed with almost every full suite empty. In at least the ones on our floor, they took the opportunity to do maintenance and heavy cleaning.
