Kabana Posted March 10, 2009 #76 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Okay, I missed the joke on this one. What do watches have to do with quoting? Are you saying "It's time!" ? Too much time on their hands.......

Iris5383 Posted March 10, 2009 #78 Share Posted March 10, 2009 I don't remember seeing that. Could someone post a link to it? I tried to find it, but couldn't. It wasn't that long ago, a week or so. Oh, well . . . probably for the best that it remains buried. Laura
Tamaracboy Posted March 11, 2009 #79 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Good one! Find that 'mole' yet? He is here almost every day and sitting in plain sight on a branch in usha's signature. ;) ;) I'm guessing that he thinks he is a bird (parrot) or eaves dropper ??
COLLEYBERRY Posted March 11, 2009 #80 Share Posted March 11, 2009 I never thought I'd see a thread debating the legitimacy of using quotes. I agree with everyone else - I see no problem with it, and in many cases it is needed, particularly if you're referring to a post that is buried on another page. Quoting, if anything, is proper form for responding to a question. Absolutely, it is the same as responding to an individual in a conversation when there are many people partaking in the discussion or agreeing (disagreeing ) with a point made. How else could this be done,if we didn't use quotes ?

RevNeal Posted March 11, 2009 #82 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Actually my favorite quote is from Jessica Rabbit : "I'm not really bad, I'm just drawn that way" ;) ;) ;) I just KNEW there was something I liked about you!!!! Her's is one of my favorite quotes, too! That and the remark about a "booby-trap" in her cleavage. :D And ... oh, heck, there are two dozen fabulous quips in that film. I haven't watched it in ages! SuperTrooper00 Posted March 12, 2009 #83 Share Posted March 12, 2009 Maybe. However, I must be in the minority, because I think it is rude to quote.:D I trust everyone knows I am joking...

simplelife Posted March 15, 2009 #86 Share Posted March 15, 2009 Double negative? Does that negate what I wrote? :D You are quite corrrect in your statement. A double negative cancels out itself, so the meaning is that you WOULD see the reply, which is what you meant.:) Sorry, I've been an English teacher for so many years I can't resist responding to grammar questions.:D
