Alaska Cruise - Formal Night

My parents are going on the Alaskan cruise in July and are worried about formal night. My dad would like not to take a coat/tie due to the luggage allowances now. Is it possible for him to wear a pair of slacks and a nice collared shirt on formal night? No tie or suit jacket.

I would suggest that you do a "search" here for "formal wear"...you will see a ton of threads about it and lots of opinions. A couple of threads have been locked and closed by the Mods over the last couple of days because of heated discussions.

The threads that have been locked can still be viewed so you will see lots of opinions and discusions re Princess' policies. There is always Horizon Court on formal night so you don't have to dine in the dining room.
