Hi! Anyone out there taking the Carnival South Caribbean cruise March 29th?

Howdy whiskerkat! 50.gif

Welcome to Cruise Critic and thank you for your first post! However, you have posted on the Cruise Blogs & Websites Forum where members share the site for their personal cruise-related travelogue blogs or websites. This is not the correct forum for your post since it is off topic here. 05.gif

Read the Sticky thread titled What is a ROLL CALL and how do I find mine? at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44773. The thread will tell you about the Cruise Critic Roll Call Forums and how they are the place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you before the cruise.

To help you find your Roll Call thread quicker, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=848498 for your Roll Call thread titled March 29, 2009 .

To research for information about your ports of call click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=5 for our list of the Ports of Call Forums. That's where you can research for tours, excursions, transportation etc. Your fellow Cruise Critic members post their reviews/recommendations there.

Also, you and your fellow Roll Call members may post personal ads about sharing tours, excursion, transportation etc. with each other in your Roll Call thread. Roll Call threads are the ONLY place on Cruise Critic where this is allowed. It is a "captive audience" since you are all sailing together!

To research for information from your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=215 for our Carnival Cruise Lines Forum. If you are new to cruising, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=97 to research our First Time Cruisers Forum. For more information about cruising, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=114 for our Ask a Cruise Question Forum.

Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/index.php for the list of all Cruise Critic message board forums and be sure to read all Announcement and Sticky threads at the top of the various forums for very important information or instructions.

Please feel free to use the Search this Forum feature on all Cruise Critic message board forums with your key word or words. It will help narrow down the threads you will want to read during your research. Also, you can see if your inquiry has been asked and answered before. And it probably has... many, many times! 05.gif

Click the Search this Forum feature to open the drop down. Type in your key word or words then click the little Go button. I suggest you do not try a search with too many or too common of key words at one time. This will sometime overwhelm the search feature with too many threads to scan and it will time out. From time to time, you may receive an error message that says "Search function is down". PLEASE TRY AGAIN in a few moments. This message will often pop up during the busiest times of the day.

The following information may be helpful too:

Be sure to read our FAQ, especially the Getting Started section. You will see how a new topic should be consistent with the specific forum you choose. It also gives a brief summary of the topics covered in some of the forum sections. Other important FAQ sections are Subscriptions (Receiving e-mail notification of replies to posts and threads you specify) and User Maintenance.

In the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free membership, please note the Please Browse BEFORE You Post section since many of your questions may have been asked and answered before as mentioned above.

When doing your research, be sure you are on the correct forum. After you have browsed/researched for your topic and possibly not found an answer, word your new inquiry title so the other members scrolling through the thread titles will know exactly the information you seek. This will help the members so they can reply to you. It is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic or concerning one cruise line, port of call, etc. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship & sail date in your inquiry if it will help the members with their answers to you.

If you wonder what some of the icons/symbols/arrows on Cruise Critic mean, just use your mouse to hover your cursor over the item and most often there will be a tool tip appear with the name or action.

I sincerely hope this information will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic!

Yes, I am. I have had a hard time finding anyone on here that is going.
Me too! Its really hard to navigate these message boards! Are you going with a group?

As I stated before:

... To help you find your Roll Call thread quicker' date=' click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=848498 for your Roll Call thread titled March 29, 2009 ...

You will find the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you on your Roll Call thread.

I see you have both already posted on the Roll Call thread before. The best way for both of you to stay informed on your posts is to make sure you have subscribed to every thread where you post. I see by one of the Mod screens you both have your Automatic Thread Subscription Mode set as Do not subscribe but it can be changed if you like.

It is easy to do and here are the steps:

Click User CP

Click Edit Options

Scroll down to the Messaging & Notification section

Look at the Default Thread Subscription Mode box

Your choices in the drop down menu are as follows:

  1. Do not subscribe
  2. No email notification
  3. Instant email notification
  4. Daily email notification
  5. Weekly email notification

Highlight (click) your new choice

Scroll to the bottom of the page & click the Save Changes button

I find the instant e-mail notification works best for me, and may for you too. That way I do not have to go looking for any replies since they come looking for me!

Now if you want to subscribe to a particular forum using Forum Tools, there is no instant e-mail. The only subscription choices for a forum are as follows:

  1. No email notification
  2. Daily updates by email
  3. Weekly updates by email

Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showp...4&postcount=15 for a very important previous post by member Globaliser for even more information about subscriptions. Especially the part about the first User CP page where you will see the list of your subscribed threads.

If there is a thread you are interested in the replies but do not necessarily want to post to the thread, you can click Thread Tools and then Subscribe to this Thread. A screen will appear where you can indicate how you want to be notified about any additional replies on that particular thread. This is also what you will need to do to threads where your posts were made prior to your Automatic Thread Subscription Mode setting being changed if you change it.

082502btw_prv.gif, as stated in the Sticky thread titled What is a ROLL CALL and how do I find mine? at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44773:

IF MY ROLL CALL IS SLOW, CAN I POST IT ON OTHER FORUMS?

No. Please don't post threads looking for others cruising with you on any of our other forums. Roll Calls became so popular that there was a need to set up a separate area for them. We ask that you keep Roll Call type discussions to your Roll Call in the ROLL CALL forums and keep the other forums open for general cruise discussions according to forum topic.

Just a friendly reminder, the topic for this forum:

Cruise Blogs & Websites Share your personal cruise-related blog or website with others!

This forum is a showcase for your PERSONAL cruise website or blog.

Please do not link to commercial websites or cruise message board forums here.

I sincerely hope this additional information will be helpful!

Anyone going on this cruise? Looking for friends and cocktail buddies

Please read the previous posts in this thread for information concerning the various Cruise Critic forums and where to find the information you seek.

Again, this is not the correct forum for trying to locate other Cruise Critic members sailing with you as mentioned before.

Bigvee, in your case you need to click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=772550 for your Carnival Victory Roll Call thread titled Victory 4-26-09.

Thanking you in advance for your cooperation,
