Good News....The man who attacked the lady from Canada has been arrested and charged with murder.

He was arrested and charged this morning. This is a positive step towards bringing some closure to this poor lady's family.:(

Our thoughts and prayers got out to her family

Death penalty is what I understood would happen if this person was caught.
Oh quite definitely!

Only thing is, it'll never be carried out

and then We The Barbados Taxpayers get to keep the little darling

at a public cost of around U.S.$ 25 per day, for the rest of his sorry life.

-along with about 40 others!

No apologies for sounding a bit sarcastic and bitter

about the silly Politically Correct anti-death-sentence plague

that now hangs around civilized society's neck, globally

..but if the matter was put to national (per island)referendums

Death Row here on this island, (and up and down ALL these islands, make no mistake!)

would get cleaned out very quickly indeed

save taxpayer dollars

send a huge signal to criminal morons

and the tourism product would benefit from the boost in public safety

where anyone could then walk any beach -on any of these islands- in perfect safety!

 God Bless Amnesty International, if yew ketch ma drift.

Aplmac...I agree with you 1000%. Not wanting to sound callous but we need to start breaking some necks on the gallows. Then and only then will we get this sort of crime to stop in Barbados.

I prefer my tax dollars to be spent on keeping the gallows active than to fattening the criminal element(and I mean fattening literally) To all those who say death penalty is not a deterrent. How would we know until we implement it??

I share your sentiments about Amnesty International....:(
