tigger54 Posted March 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2009 What is the largest size suitcase that can be carried on the ship. I am getting conflicting sizes. Carnival says that all luggage should be no larger than 16h 24 width 30 length but then they say that carry on lugguage should be no larger than 16h and 24w. Does anyone know? I want to carry on one piece of luggage but want to make sure that it will go through the security machine. Thanks for any advice you can give me. cathyz Posted March 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2009 There is no restriction on length, 24x16 is the limit for carry-ons. It needs to go thru an airport-type xray machine. For example, golf clubs can go thru so length is unimportant.
imnance Posted March 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2009 From my luggage tags for my 5/8/09 cruise........ NOTE: Guests are encouraged to limit their checked baggage to two suitcases per person. Each suitcase should not weigh more than 50 pounds and not exceed 24'w x 16"h.

The w in 24w is short for width. It's just not spelled out. This is because the opening on the scanner is 16" tall and 24" wide.

Depends, do you want to carry them thru the terminal for check-in and then until your cabin is ready (if you arrive early) ??
