It really and truly varies...my first cruise it took like close to 3 hours to clear customs for some. It also depends on the amount of passengers and the number of Non US Citizens
cb at sea Posted March 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2009 Once the ship is cleared for folks to leave, it's a "walk-off" port--it won't take long at all at that point!
Rare silentbob007 Posted March 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2009 St. Thomas takes a while, especially if you are coming from a foreign port as each passenger must be cleared individually before leaving the ship.
nyminute Posted March 27, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted March 27, 2009 Leaving from Miami with a stop at Samana, Dom. Rep. before stop at St. Thomas. Still think it will take more than 1/2 hour to clear and get off ship
mistergq Posted March 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2009 I don't think it will take a half an hour.
cruiserbryce Posted March 29, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2009 ports like that where you can just walk right off are usuallu quite easy...once the ship is cleared they will allow you to just walk right off...shouldn't be more than 9:20 or so if the ship is cleared at

It depends upon the ship and the port, but they usually give priority debarkation for passengers with ticketed excursions...
