OrlEngr Posted March 31, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2009 Hi Can someone provide pictures/description of the equipment in the fitness center on the Summit? Are there personal trainers available? Any idea of the service charge for an hour workout? Thanks in advance Harold
espmass Posted March 31, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2009 I don't have any pictures but was just on the Summit last week and used the fitness center daily. They have the usual row of treadmills, row of eliptical trainers, and row of stationary bikes. They have all the usual circuit machines and a smaller separate room with free weights. They do offer spin classes and yoga classes at $12 a class and various free classes such as AM stretch. they do have personal trainers that you can sign up for but, unfortunately, I didn't notice the price. The fitness center opens at 6AM. Hope that helps.
Rare electro Posted April 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2009 I'm willing to bet that the personal trainers on the cruise are very expensive. You might be better off booking a session with a trainer at a local gym and have them design a program that you can do while on the ship. Which ever way you go, good luck with your exercise program. When are you sailing? I'm on the Summit T/A 18 April and I'll be in the gym every sea day.:D If your on that cruise, I'd be glad to help you out. Lois

spav01 Posted April 1, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 1, 2009 A scanned document at this site http://www.1mpages.com/cruise/Celebrity101other.html from January indicates three 30 minute personal training sessions is $210. If you're on my Transatlantic cruise I'll give you personal training sessions for 1/2 that :-) Seriously, who are they kidding?
Rare electro Posted April 1, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Hi cookiermom, I am travelling with Sunlvrmtl, so if you find her on the list, I am right under her name.:) That is an insane price for personal training. I was serious when I offered to help out. I have taken the CanFitPro personal trainer course and I also have Basic Fitness Trainer Assistant course (Canada Military course):)
Stelladoro Posted April 2, 2009 #9 Share Posted April 2, 2009 Hi Electro, I'm also on the April 18th TA sailing and plan to be in the gym every day. Wouldn't mind some assistance from you, if you're agreeable. Thanks Mary
pimpdaddy Posted April 2, 2009 #10 Share Posted April 2, 2009 I will be on the transatlantic and "should be" in the gym everyday. If I am not, I give you all permission to give me swift kick. BTW, I will be the young man with the hat on backwards. Oh, and don't be put off by my username, I'm not really a **** or a daddy.

Rare electro Posted April 2, 2009 #12 Share Posted April 2, 2009 No problem Mary. Maybe I can get together with you and Cookiersmom at the sailaway party or the m&m and we can work out a time that is good for all of us to meet in the gym and work together. I'm training for an event in May so I will have to get my run in before I can do anything else.:o P*mpdaddy, I'd be glad to give you a kick in the butt to get you to the gym.;) With a total of 7 sea day, there is no excuse for any of us not to get our workouts in. And the more we work out, the more we can EAT:D:D:D
