DanJ Posted April 2, 2009 #26 Share Posted April 2, 2009 I like the new tones Princess used in the finishes of those suites. It is a nice change and appears more modern. The funny thing is that those light tones of wood are no longer in, home design has moved on to darker woods. They probably got a deal since that style is going out again LOL. First thing I noticed too was the shower stall. At least the showers in the regular rooms have a curtain with some give. Those glass walls won't move the same way LOL. Toto2Kansas Posted April 2, 2009 #27 Share Posted April 2, 2009 It appears from the pics that the bathroom area actually provides a 110 and a 220 outlet (both). This is something I haven't seen before in the bathroom area. Was their a sign that said 'for razors only' above the plug in, or were they just regular plug ins for say a hairdryer or curling iron? Also, there appears to be a storage drawer in the bathroom next to the sink, is this what it actually was?

I would guess it is the angle of the picture that makes it look otherwise. It is nice to see the handheld shower though, since they had families with young children in mind (from what I have read) when designing these suites. DEERINH2O Posted April 2, 2009 #30 Share Posted April 2, 2009 Great Pictures. I would stay in one of these rooms. I wonder if they are hard to book? Kathy
NukeTim Posted April 2, 2009 Author #31 Share Posted April 2, 2009 In reply to the questions asked in the post: 1. Yes, you do get full suite perks with the WS suite. As I said before, the only thing lacking might be a full size table to dine on. 2. Shower is plenty big. 3. There are two pull out drawers in the bathroom for storage. 4. These are rooms are quiet. There is a separate hallway between the suites and the passageway between purser's desk - Crown grill - Churchills - and the Princess Theatre. There is an opening at either end. We never saw anyone walking down the suite hallway to get between the other places.
MaryPoppinz Posted April 3, 2009 #32 Share Posted April 3, 2009 They look very, very nice, but it would be an absolute deal-breaker for us not to have a balcony. I could see this cabin working out very well for a family with a small child or two, or who, for other reasons, prefers not to have a balcony. The new furnishings and linens are a nice improvement -- I think the blonde wood works well in small spaces like a cruise ship cabin.

JWJs Posted April 13, 2009 #34 Share Posted April 13, 2009 Thanks for taking the time to take the suite pictures and posting them on Webshots.:) Suite looks nice but I would be disappointed to get an upgrade to that cabin and not have a balcony. Need to get outside 1st thing in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee on my balcony.

Sincity Posted April 14, 2009 #36 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Very nice. I could deal with not having a balcony. Same here. Or leave enough space for a tiny balcony like on the Dawn.

Spot Posted April 14, 2009 #38 Share Posted April 14, 2009 I've been considering one of these Window Suites - we have never cruised Princess but we've had Celebrity Suites (no balcony and floor to ceiling and wall to wall windows) and never missed the balcony as the suite amenities more than made up for the lack. Thank you for posting the photos - it looks light and airy and very doable especially to Hawaii with so many days at sea when it's windy and cool. NukeTim Posted April 14, 2009 Author #39 Share Posted April 14, 2009 In answer to your questions - absolutely no noise from the casino. I couldn't tell if there was noise from the Promenade deck above - I don't think so. This was a VERY pleasant "sweet" room. My wife enjoyed sitting on the couch and reading. No balcony - order your canapes for the afternoon and sit on the sofa and enjoy the view. For those of you who could not live without a balcony, you may want to reconsider. With all the suite amenities and good location, these window suites were great. Could you live without your morning coffee on the balcony if you could go to Sabatini's and order expresso, cappucino, latte, bloody mary's, mimosa for free? I guess it's all give and take. Having had an Caribe deck balcony (big balcony, partially covered) , I would give it up in a minute for one of these Window Suites.
Spot Posted April 14, 2009 #40 Share Posted April 14, 2009 NukeTim - It looks as though there is a railing outside of the windows, can you explain this please. Did you have an unobstructive view outside all your windows? Did you find the suite roomy and comfortable, would you cruise in this cabin again? Thank you in advance for sharing your personal experience with us.

BLS Posted April 14, 2009 #42 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Thank you! Have to wait until May of 2010 for our chance in one of these Suites. Really looking forward to it. Thanks bunches, Bev
NukeTim Posted April 15, 2009 Author #43 Share Posted April 15, 2009 There is nothing outside the windows except the sea. If you look up at the ship, these are the same large windows like all of them on deck 6. There is a little 'ledge' on the inside where the draperies sit. I'd certainly take this Window Suite over any balcony cabin We've been in a category BA - Caribe deck partially covered balcony stateroom. I consider these the best balconies on the ship and I'd give it up for the Window Suite. I've never been in a mini-suite so I don't know about those. From the mini-suite photos I've seen, you have a couch to sit on inside and a balcony. I do know from being in the balcony on Caribe deck looking down on the Dolphin deck mini-suites, that they go mostly unused & empty. So the question comes down to whether you want the mini-suite balcony or the suite 'perks'. I think the bathroom in the Window Suite is exceptional. I think the mini-suites have a tub but is it a jacuzzi? Separate show stall and double sinks and storage drawers were nice too. The Window Suites are also in a very good location on the ship - lower and right by the central atrium.

whatcruiseisnext Posted August 27, 2011 #45 Share Posted August 27, 2011 we recently got off the Golden and were fortunate to be invited into a fellwo cruisers WS. The cabins are lovely but MUCH smaller than i expected. We would defiitely not give up a balcony for a WS.
aikensbest Posted August 27, 2011 #46 Share Posted August 27, 2011 We have always had a balcony and generally a mini suite. However going to Hawaii in Oct. with 8 days at sea we decided a window suite with all the amenities more than made up for the loss of a balcony. I can always go on deck when in port and last trip to Hawaii was too cold to sit on the balcony. Really looking forward to this WS

StillPooh Posted August 27, 2011 #49 Share Posted August 27, 2011 We totally would have gone for a balcony, were it not for the change in smoking policy. It would annoy hubby to have a balcony but not be allowed to enjoy his evening cigar on it. Our suite is right near Churchill's. He is very happy about that. :D
