Miami hotel recommendations wanted please

We will be staying in Miami post cruise in April 2010 and would appreciate any recommendations for a nice hotel. It doesn't have to be top of the line, but it does need to be clean and comfortable. We have never been to Miami before so don't really know which part is the best area to stay in. Thanks for your help.

Since you'll be getting off of the ship in the morning, and have all day, I'd head to Miami Beach. Lots to do besides the beach, including museums, shopping, and great dining. Good luck!:)

We just stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables. It was awesome. We got it on Priceline for $80 and it normally runs about $260. I'd highly recommend it. Luxurious, comfortable, quiet, great pool, great restaurant, and super helpful and friendly staff. Not near the beach, but we drove to Biscayne Bay and went to the Bill Baggs State Park for the day and swam and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
