Possible group cruise B2B - Part 2 - Miracle - February 7, 2011

Recently, quite a few Cruisecritic members were on the Pride’s Panama Canal transit cruise. We called ourselves the Panamaniacs, and we had such a wonderful time and became such great friends, that we’ve already decided to do a reunion cruise.

We’re looking at doing a back-to-back on the Miracle.

Part 1 – 8 day Southern Caribbean on January 30, 2011

Jan. 31 - at sea

Feb. 1 - at sea

Feb. 2 - St. Maarten

Feb. 3 - St. Lucia

Feb. 4 - St. Kitts

Feb. 5 - at sea

Feb. 6 - at sea

Part 2 - 8 day Western Caribbean on February 7, 2011

Feb. 8 - at sea

Feb. 9 - at sea

Feb. 10 - Colon, Panama

Feb. 11 - Limon, Costa Rica

Feb. 12 - at sea

Feb. 13 – Belize

Feb. 14 - at sea

We already have enough interest to see if these can be official group cruises, and I’m sure there are lots of other people who are ready to come along and have a great time.

I’m posting this as two separate cruises, so if you can only do one half of the B2B, you can still come along for the fun.

Who else wants to join the Panamaniacs on board the Miracle on February 7, 2011?

Just to clarify for everyone...even though this is being called a B2B and most of us are doing it as a B2B, each portion is a separate cruise, so you can join us for both Part 1 and Part 2, OR you can just do one Part...you don't have to sign up for both. :)

I am going to be talking to friends and family about this and see if there is any interest.;)

I've already got my sil and brother ready to join us (she's Flippr5657), and a couple of people I cruised with before are going to come along, too.

I have i guess a question and a comment... hhmm first the comment i suppose

I am doing this exact back to back for christmas and new years this year, dec 22 and dec 30 on the miracle, exact same ports / itinerary.

question... what do u mean by it will qualify as a group cruise, do you have to have a certain number of people for it to be a group cruise, and if so, what benefit is there to something being called a group cruise? lower rates? special perks? cuiousity thanks

In order to be considered an "official" cruisecritic group cruise, you have to have at least 8 cabins and then you have to be approved by Cruisecritiic.

Perks generally run from on board credits per cabin, lower rates, sometimes a lower initial deposit ($25), to things like champagne and chocolates in your cabin, or a private cocktail party.

My dh and I are very interested in doing the Feb. 7 part of the cruise to Western Caribbean. We can't get enough time off for the first part, too. The good thing is that our kids can't get enough time off from school for either part, so we will have to go without them. BOOHOO:p. Add us to the list.

Great job Sandy! You are the best!;)

I can't wait to go for the B/B! I know this is going to be so much fun. The Itinerary is great. The cruisers are the Best! I just know we will have a blast adding our own fun and events to what the ship already has in store for us.:)

Maybe we could start a list for a "Slot Pull", Cabin crawl or wine tasting?

I don't know yet if I will be sailing solo or with a friend yet but either way you can count on me!!!:D

Hi Robin.

Did someone say "slot pull"??!! Oh, the Panamaniacs know that's my forte. :D Sure, I'll organize one...twist my arm. :D

Robin and I met on my first Mexican Riviera cruise on the Spirit and I just knew she'd fit in with the Panamaniacs, which is why I told her about the B2B. I have a picture of her and I together on the MR cruise. If I can find it, I'll post it.

Hi Sandy, I found these pic's of us.;):D

Yes, the Casino is one of my favorite spots on the ship. You are usually pretty lucky aren't you. I think I will have to rub your head or something for good luck. I do love the slot pulls!

What in the world is a slot-pull. I know cabin crawl, but this is a new one for me.

We pick one slot machine (usually a dollar one) and each person puts in a set amount, say $20, plays the max coins for however many times the $20 allows and at the end whatever amount we win is divided up among those participating.

We did one on the Panama Canal cruise. Everyone put in $21 and ended up with $16, which isn't bad for the amount of fun we had.

Thanks for the pictures, Robin. That was a great trip.

I am usually pretty lucky at the slots, not so much on this last trip, but if I don't win, I just consider it part of my onboard entertainment. :D

I've sent off an email to Laura to see about getting official status for our group. Hopefully, it won't be long before I hear back from her and then the TA. :)

I have my fingers crossed. I already am checking out the deck plans and cabins.;):D

I've had 4 different cabins on the Spirit class ships, so I may try to get a cabin on the Miracle that's the same as one I've had on either the Spirit or the Pride.
