I am sailing on the Splendor May 31st through June 7th and having a full knee replacement June 10th. I was hoping to have a little fun before I have to sit around all summer. It is my understanding that I can not call and rebook until Carnival says where we are going. I saw one out of New York June 1-9 but that is cutting it close. I would continue on this cruise if the seas are not too bad and I think the ship will be pretty empty so I would still have fun in casino and pool. So, I would like anyone that sails in the next week to post and let me know how it is so I can make up my mind.

He can't cancel and get full credit...... so far only for those that sail on May 3rd........his is May 10th...

He can't make any plans until they announce what will happen with his cruise.......Carnival is just stringing people along......they know they won't be sailing to the Mexican Riviera on May 10th....

Hommebronze if it were me I would just look for a comparable cruise and make plans to get the credit and reschedule.....at least work on different vacation days now.......

Good luck!

What are the conditions of my contract?spacer.gifIf you look at the cover of your ticket booklet, you will see an "Important Notice to Guests." This notice directs your attention to the terms and conditions of your contract. It is important to read this and become acquainted with the specific conditions and limitations of your passage including time limitations and the proper venue in which to file suit.

Carnival reserves the right to cancel or substitute any scheduled port of call at any time and for any reason whatsoever without prior notice and shall not be liable for any loss to guests by reason of such cancellation or substitution.

Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, incendiary devices or other dangerous goods are strictly prohibited aboard the vessel. Please see section 4(f) of ticket contract for further details.

Change In Itinerary

If Carnival Cruise Lines (“Carnival”) has adequate notice prior to sailing that a vessel will deviate from the published itinerary, it will promptly upon making the itinerary change notify passengers of the change through their travel agents or directly, in the case of a direct booking (the “Notice”). The Notice shall offer passengers an opportunity to cancel their booking without penalty within 24 hours of the delivery of the Notice. Carnival shall not be liable to guests for any charges, fees or expenses paid or owed to third parties (such as air travel booked by a guest directly with an airline) in connection with a cancelled booking or substituted port. In the event a passenger does not cancel his or her cruise on a timely basis, no additional compensation for the itinerary change will be offered to the passenger at a later time.

In the event the itinerary change becomes necessary while the ship is at sea or when notice prior to sailing is not feasible, Carnival shall attempt to substitute an alternative port. Carnival shall promptly provide written notice of the itinerary change to the passengers, as well as announcing the change in the Carnival Capers and via the public address system. No compensation shall be provided to passengers when an alternative port is offered.

If safety, scheduling or other concerns prevent the ship from calling on an alternative port, Carnival shall promptly provide written notice of the elimination of the scheduled port to the passengers as well as announcing the change in the Carnival Capers and via the public address system. The written notice shall also offer a shipboard credit of $20.00 per person to be reflected on the sail and sign account.

Nothing herein shall affect the passenger’s ability to exercise the Vacation Guarantee on sailings when it applies. Click here to view.

All the passengers have 24 hours to cancel after they receive the notice "without penatly"

I LOVE SanFranciso!

I would sail into there in a heartbeat!!

Make that at least two Texans who love the idea of cruising to San Francisco!

One of our dream cruises is a 10 or 14 day to Alaska out of San Francisco.

Carnival Voluntary changed the ports. No one said they couldn't go to Mexico. They chose not to, hence making it voluntary.

Read your contract and then review what the CDC said about travel to Mexico. Nuff said.

Just checked, and cdc didnt ban travel to mexico. Maybe you should check for your self before posting. I did read the contract, tell me where it says what ever you want me to read. What I read in their policy is what I and others have posted.

We deal with this every summer with hurricanes. You schedule an Eastern Carib and a cane comes and you go West. You schedule a Western Carib a cane comes and you go East. It's something that has happened out of Carnivals control and they are doing the best they can. Royal is doing the same thing. If you don't like the itinerary, take the cruise credit and schedule a cruise later this year or do one next year. The op would probably be the first to complain if they went to Cabo and they got sick. I can see the post now. Carnival knew of the Flu and now I'm sick and eating stew. Personally, I would reschedule because I wouldn't want to go to SF, Seattle and Vancouver.
