CruisinMama7 Posted May 2, 2014 #76 Share Posted May 2, 2014 The only place we now park while cruising is Park N Cruise. We've used other lots in the past, but prefer PNC hands-down. We drop off our luggage first and then go park inside a covered building. We walk together to the cruise terminal, each with our own carry-on. It can't get any easier. Also, I like the fact that my car is totally protected from both the human and weather elements. I highly recommend this company.
mistshar Posted May 5, 2014 #77 Share Posted May 5, 2014 I am thinking of using Park and Cruise, but the website is acting up and not processing my payment etc... In the meantime, wanted to clarify something in case others read this thread- parking for military at the other place mentioned (Port of Galveston Parking) is free only for those who either have Purple Heart or are disabled with proof. Not all military ID holders. Just wanted to add that. :-) Glad to read the good review. Now to see if the reason it isn't processing is because they are full on our sailing. We just returned from our cruise on the NOS and we parked at Park N Cruise. They were great, as usual. I have a question concerning the parking for military. Do you know if they must be 100% disabled? My husband is 60% disabled and I just wondered if he would be eligible for free parking. We are planning to go out of the Port of Houston next year and they also offer free parking for disabled veterans. I assume that the rules would be the same. Thank you for your help! CruisinCarps Posted May 5, 2014 #78 Share Posted May 5, 2014 Not sure. I would definitely call and ask them. I imagine you have to show some sort of form/card to show disability. (For instance, my husband is active duty...so we don't qualify just by showing up with his ID card...) So I imagine there is some DD form you have to show. Remember, that is not for Galveston Park N Cruise (a private company), it is for the "official" port parking: http://www.portofgalveston.com/index.aspx?NID=

I have emailed the Bayport Terminal to ask them. My husband has his VA hospital card but that doesn't say he has a disability so we will bring his letter he gets annually which has his percentage of disability on it. This is if they say he qualifies. If he doesn't, we will just pay. Please thank your husband for his service and we appreciate all you do too to support him. mistshar Posted May 7, 2014 #81 Share Posted May 7, 2014 You're welcome! And thank your husband for his service as well! Have a great cruise! I will tell him. Thank you! I did receive an email from the Bayport Terminal and they said that this year it doesn't matter what percentage of disability they have but next year it may change. He said if it does change it will be on their website.
sunneesmile Posted May 9, 2014 #82 Share Posted May 9, 2014 Current Promo for EZ cruise Parking-JULY- gets you $10 off. I tired all the other months too and it showed $5 to $8 discount :)
turnera Posted July 13, 2016 #83 Share Posted July 13, 2016 Got a couple of responses on this question, but I am looking to see if they have shuttle service yet. Yes ..I know about EZ Parking & Lighthouse, lots of chatter on them, just not much on the new kid Park & Cruise. We used Park N Cruise in May, covered parking was about $65. They took a small abandoned factory building right across the street from the terminal entrance. So the cars are locked up every night. They have golf carts to escort you from your car to the corner to cross the street into the terminal entrance. So it's not drive-up service, but it's just across the street, and IMO a great bargain. Plus the people were just wonderful. Only caveat: the street is a little hard to find.
robinAustin Posted July 13, 2016 #84 Share Posted July 13, 2016 (edited) They don't have a shuttle because they are right across the street. It is recommended that you drop off your luggage FIRST at the terminal. Either leaving someone with the luggage or tip a porter to go ahead and take the luggage ($2 per bag tip is enough) then go and Park and walk over across to the terminal. If you prepay online you usually get a discount. Edited July 13, 2016 by robinAustin
zdcatc12 Posted July 14, 2016 #85 Share Posted July 14, 2016 It is recommended that you drop off your luggage FIRST at the terminal. ...if you want to be stuck in a line of a hundred cars doing exactly what you are doing. It is so close, I have always parked and then just wheeled my luggage across the street. Saves a lot of time you would be spending stopped in your car. LSUcajunmom Posted July 16, 2016 #86 Share Posted July 16, 2016 I have never had to wait longer than a few minutes to pull up to the curb and drop off luggage. We watched a group of 5 or 6 adults struggling w their luggage crossing the street and getting up to the terminal. One of the ladies was fussing to her husband saying I told you we could drop off our luggage first. Just so much easier to wait the few minutes in the car lines to drop off the luggage first. I agree. I only sailed once out of Galveston but we pulled right up and dropped right off and were on our merry way.

Alibaster McGillicutty Posted September 8, 2016 #90 Share Posted September 8, 2016 Do you think the staggered check-in times have reduced the congestion? Doesn't sound like they were that long to begin with. We've stayed at the Harbor House a few times so we just wheeled our suitcases and never sat in a line of cars before. We are cruising in March 2017 so we are looking at parking at Park N Cruise. Looks like a short enough walk with suitcase in tow. Cheers Ali McG
Thirsty Cruiser Posted September 11, 2016 #91 Share Posted September 11, 2016 Didn't notice any difference with staggered check in. Took about an hour. I used http://ezcruiseparking.com for this trip and am very satisfied. It's $65 but they also offer $20 off if you don't use their shuttle. Total cost was 48.71 including tax for parking without shuttle, and it's an easy 10 minute walk. I walked it with two suitcases and a backpack with no problem. Desert Cruizers Posted September 13, 2016 #92 Share Posted September 13, 2016 My question is regarding returning back to IAH from Galveston Park N Cruise and best directions. Google shows going out to 25th, right turn and onto Harborside Dr to Broadway. Is there a better way back to IAH.
eieiogarcia Posted July 31, 2017 #93 Share Posted July 31, 2017 We reserved a parking spot here for a 7 daycruise that we had in late April 2017 thinking it would be more convenient. Itwas more expensive but we were trying for convenience. We had also purchasedthe FTTF package with the cruise ship. This lot made my husband wait for aparking spot for over an hour. I spoke to Nancy at their customer service linei found online who was so rude to me twice. Their manager, Jennifer called meand said she was on vacation that day and would try to speed up the process. Nope, that did not work, it was almost like the parking lot attendants were purposelynot letting my husband in to park after i had complained because they wereallowing others to. Very frustrating and no one followed up with us or offeredany help after the initial calls. We will go back to using the Port ofGalveston parking, which we had been using for years. I am sorry that you had such a difficult time. I am not clear which parking lot you are referring to. If you are referring to Park N Cruise, they have always been so helpful and kind to us. I guess you got different people if this is it. I would be upset to if this happened to us. Hope things work out better next time. Hope you had a great cruise.
