baxter007 Posted May 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2009 How many Anytime Dining Rooms does the Grand have? We are first time cruisers and a family of 4. Do you just roll along to any restaurant you fancy and wait to be seated or do you need to book in advance? If booking in advance - when should you do it, the morning or night before? If you are doing Anytime Dining, does it allow you to sit in the Traditional Dining Room? Thanks everyone for your info. Jenn
strummer Posted May 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2009 Hi If I remember there are two anytime dining rooms on the Grand. You cannot sit in the traditional dining room except at breakfast when it is free seating. You can book your table or just turn up. If you just turn up and they can't seat you they give you a pager and then we used to head to the bar for a pre dinner drink. Hope you have a great cruise - we loved the Grand!! So, if you have anytime dining, you must dine at one of the anytime diningrooms or other dining venues onboard, you will not be allowed to dine at the traditional diningroom. And vice versa, those who are assinged traditional are not supposed to dine in the anytime diningrooms.

On our cruise on the Grand breakfast and lunch were served in one of the anytime dining rooms, not in the traditional dining room. And the fuse is lit. hightownCO Posted May 15, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 15, 2009 Believe there are two anytime dining rooms, one traditional. When we were on board 3/08, Michaelango and DaVicci where anytime. Once we found a waitstaff team we liked, we made reservation for one of their tables each night. Would call in the morning of that day.
kodiac Posted May 15, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2009 It looks like you have your answers above. I just wanted to add that once we tried the anytime dining option, we never went back to the traditional setting. For two people who want to eat whenever they want, it is a great option. I also might add that I am not on vacation to make a schedule - we like to eat whenever we like. It is hard to go on Carnival ships because they do not yet offer the anytime option.
