cruise credits and onboard credits

Cruise credits are used to help pay for a cruise. You can get these for referring new passengers to Princess.

On board credits help pay off your onboard account. You can get these for owning 100 shares of Carnival Crporation stock, and for using a Future Cruise Credit when booking a cruise. Some TA's also give onboard credits.

Can on board credits on Island Princess be used to pay the automatic gratuity charge. We were on one cruise line last year and the on board credit could only be used for drinks, purchases, etc. but could not be used to pay for the automatic gratuity charge. Anyone have any info regarding this - would appreciate it.

The TA that I often use has a statement on their web site that states cabin credit cannot be used for gratuity's or casino charges. This is not true & once on board can be used for anything that you want to charge. I could never get a straight answer from the TA other than - Princess make them do it. Strange.

Should my OBC for owning stock be showing up in My Princess? I received a confirmation email and it shows on my receipt, but not in My Princess.

For what ever reason, not all OBC's show up in the cruize personalizer. Last time the only OBC that showed up in my account was $50 that I received for purchasing FCC's. The aditional $25 that I received for booking the cruise (Princess gave it to me not my TA) was not showing up there. I made a call to Princess and they confirmed that my wife and I each had a $75 OBC. Also when I arrived at the ship I asked at passenger services for a print out of my statement and we each had a credit for $75.

Print out a copy of the email and take it with you on the cruise, just to be sure!

If I do not use all the obc in my cruise account, will Princess refund the difference to me? What about shareholder credit? Would I get a cash refund if I didn't use it all? We are not big onboard spenders and most of our obc is used to pay gratuities.
