Weather in mid September

We are thinking about booking Jewel of the Sea out of Boston for Sept. 14, what temperatures can we realistically expect in Bar Harbor, Portland and St. John that time of year. I am assuming sweatshirts and jeans type of weather.

One word....LAYERS. Though normally in the 60s-70sF range during the day, it's not unusual for a day to be in the 80s or 50s here in Portland. Check the longterm forcast before you leave home.

The weather can be funny because sometimes Indian Summers do happen but I definitely recommend bringing some short-sleeves but bring some type of cover-up that isn't super heavy but will keep you warm on the more chillier nights.
