MA cruisers Posted June 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2009 We are thinking about booking Jewel of the Sea out of Boston for Sept. 14, what temperatures can we realistically expect in Bar Harbor, Portland and St. John that time of year. I am assuming sweatshirts and jeans type of weather.
rfische1 Posted June 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2009 One word....LAYERS. Though normally in the 60s-70sF range during the day, it's not unusual for a day to be in the 80s or 50s here in Portland. Check the longterm forcast before you leave home. Jan_In_Maine Posted June 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2009 Rich has given the best answer .... layers. Expect it to be perhaps 5 degrees cooler in Bar Harbor than Portland. Have a wonderful time on your trip, it is a beautiful time of year to be in Maine. Jan

The weather can be funny because sometimes Indian Summers do happen but I definitely recommend bringing some short-sleeves but bring some type of cover-up that isn't super heavy but will keep you warm on the more chillier nights.
