Weather late October

We did that cruise from Bayonne last October. It was a round trip and there were times that I would look outside to be sure we were moving. Of course, that's not saying that it can't be rough. We may have been very lucky.

Even if you go in September you just can't be sure whether or not there will be a storm and the seas will be rough. For example, we have visited Newport, RI three times. This is also a tender port. Each time was completely different. One time relatively calm, second time in between and the third time was extremely rough.

Yes, late October will likely be a little cooler and it is at the end of the cruising season for the New England cruises, but keep in mind that weather always varies year over year.

In terms of the seas I always prepare for problems just in case. We try to select a mid ship cabin and we bring a few items with us including ginger and bonine (of the counter for nausea).
