QUIET hotel in Fort Lauderdale

I usually stay at Hyatt Place off of 17th. It is always quiet there.

Stayed at LaQuinta in Hollywood this spring. They picked us up from the airport for free then also took us to the ship for free the next morning. Breakfast was ok but the lunch aboard ship started everything going for the next 15 days. Wife was happy with motel. Happy sailing. Colakid

The Lago Mar is absolutely beautiful, nice and quiet and right on the beach next to the cruise port. We grab a coffee in the early morning hours, go out to the jedi and watch the ships come back in before we head out for our cruise in the afternoon.

Courtyard Marriott on the Beach - I highly suggest getting an oceanview room since you're just across the street from the ocean, but even the suites which face North and South have ocean views.

(And Bubba Gumps is right downstairs)

We like the Renaissance on 17th Street. You can see the ships from your hotel window & there are good restaurants & a Crown Wine/Liquor store all within walking distance. The Renaissance has also recently been totally renovated & it's beautiful. :)

We have stayed at the Hyatt 17th st.Very nice and quiet.We were in a king room facing the ocean and the cruise port.The price right now is the same as the Hyatt Place off of 17th st.The hyatt plac very nice and quiet also.They also offer free shuttle from airport to hotel and than next morning free breakfast and free shuttle to the cruise port.We got it for Oct 09 cruise 2 adults/2 13 yr old girls $149.00.The Hyatt you need to get a taxi from airport and than to cruise port.The taxi can get high if the bridge is up.Every time we were in the taxi the bridge went up.It cost us $18.00 to go to the cruise port.It is only quarter mile away.But the bridge was up and the meter kept running.And breakfast at the Hyatt was $80.00 for 4 of us.I would say the Hyatt Place is very nice for the money rooms are nice.This is the 2nd time we are staying there.

I'd recommend either Renaissance on 17th street or Courtyard Marriott Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Both are lovely, quiet hotels, close to the pier, and (depending on your room location) views of the ships .:)

Another vote for the Renaissance! Quiet, but within walking distance of the water shuttle and gave us free transportation to the cruise terminal. We'll be staying there again in November.

We were extremely pleased with it. It's off the main strip, but only just behind it. The location was great---tons of restaurants within walking distance. We had a corner room with a view of the ocean and the cruiseport. The room was clean and the furnishings pretty new. I would stay there again.

We stayed at a quiet "motel" in Dania, FL not far from the port. It was the Super 8, 333 So Federal Highway, Dania, FL 33004, 954-921-6500. The room was very clean and the staff very helpful. They let us check in early also ... our flight came in around 9:30 am with no extra charge for the early check-in. There was also a nice continental breakfast the next morning.

 

This Super 8 has a "free" shuttle from the airport to the motel and also provides the same "free" shuttle service to the cruise ship terminals. We would definitely stay there if we left on another cruise from Ft. Lauderdale again.

The Hotel -- Surprised large room --King bed - cooking area & large sofa & chair. “Extended Stay America” @ $80.24 on 17th Street Cswy in FLL Shopping centers all around hotel :) -- easy walking distance --Found a small Café very good food and 100 yards away. --Supper at Bubba Gumps (Sea food) -- Cab $10 each way.

 

Breakfast at same small café -- Ham & Eggs $6.00/PP

 

Hotel called at 11:00 for car/van service $6/PP - Fast service. At Ship dock at 11:15 AM :D

Just a heads up to all ... Extended Stay went into bankruptcy within the past week ... don't know how that will impact operations and reservations.

We stay at the Renaissance on 17th when in FLL and have never had a bad experience there. Very close to the cruise port and lots of restaurants nearby. Total Wine is withing walking distance and there is a Publix supermarket very close also.

Thanks to everyone. We were tired of being woken up constantly in hotels the cruise ships booked us into. We now have lots of wonderful places to choose from.
