Celebrity Century Questions

YYC F/A

Recommended Posts

I'd be grateful if anyone on Century recently could help with a couple of specific questions that either I cannot find the answers to using search function, or which have conflicting information...

  1. Designated smoking areas including port side of upper/pool decks and Sunset Bar and Hemispheres lounge. Some posters reported a portion of the Casino as being smoking permitted, whereas others said Casino was 100% non-smoking. Also, some posters indicated that the Port Promenade deck outside permitted smoking, but again, this is not listed as an official smoking area. Are there ANY smoking areas that are located lower/below the Pool decks?
  2. Is there a Texas Hold 'Em game in the Casino, and if so, is it dealer dealt or using the PokerPro machines?
  3. Is Murano's open for lunch during sea days on voyages that have many sea days, e.g. transatlantic/repositioning etc? If so, special menu and/or special price?
  4. Is the Spa Cafe open for both breakfast, lunch and dinner?
  5. Is there a designated 'quiet' pool area/open deck with no live music / pool games etc?

Thanks for any help from any recent Century cruisers!

Hi,:) I will try to help with what I know for sure.

3) Murano's is only dinner. Doesn't matter if it is a sea day or port

day. It is a dinner venue.

4) Aqua Spa Cafe is breakfast and lunch only

5) a designated quiet area? You can walk up to deck 14 although

that is not right near the pool but it is quiet. It is outdoors though.

I think they have Texas Hold em but not 100% sure. Probably

someone who is a regular gambler can answer that one for you.

Will let someone else answer the smoking question too.

We were on Century in April. Here are answers I can provide.

SMOKING - I am an ex-smoker so tend to notice more where there "is" smoking, rather than where there "is not". There is NO smoking in the Casino at all. Smoking is permitted on one side of the pool deck and at least one side of the Promenade deck. (I say "at least" because I saw people smoking in several places on the promenade deck.) I cannot say for sure that smoking is permitted in some of the lower deck bars, but I am pretty sure that we walked through at least one bar where there were ashtrays.

MURANOS - none of the specialty restaurants are open on sea days. The dining room is generally open for lunch on sea days, but not Muranos. We sailed a TA on Summit and there weren't any openings on those sea days either.

SPA CAFE - I have only seen it open for breakfast and lunch. You do have the option of casual dining in the buffet area for dinner if you want something different.

QUIET AREAS - X's pool decks are generally much quieter than, for example, RCCI's. If we want to get away from the noise we will go up to the deck above the pool deck, or down to the promenade deck.

Hope you enjoy your cruise on Century!

Thanks for the replies, it is appreciated.

HAL opens their Pinnacle Grill for luncheon on sea days, I wish Celebrity would consider doing the same with their specialty restaurant, though the main dining room on Celebrity tends to do a nice lunch as well on sea days.

Hi,:) The wait staff that works in the Aqua Spa Cafe are the same

waiters who work in Muranos.

If Murano's was opened, well, that wait staff would never get

break:eek:

I am brand new to this board and new to cruises. I am going on a

cruise to Alaska Aug 7 out of Seattle, Celebrity Infinity.

My DB(?) is new to all this also.

I am looking on this board to figure out what to expect , (in a way I want it all to be a surprise), but it would be nice to learn a tip or two.

So where on this board should I go to find others that are going on my cruise or have been on it already??

Welcome! Each cruise has a "Roll Call" thread in which people who are going on that cruise can post and get to know each other. Here is yours: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=941674

Have fun, and don't forget to sign up for your Celebrity Connections party, using the link at the top of your roll call.
