cassidya Posted June 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2009 Hi! I am brand new to this site, so I apologize if this question has been asked. I will be sailing on the Monarch of the Seas this month. It is my first time cruising and I am so excited!! Question: Are you allowed to bring non-alcoholic drinks (ie: bottled water, soda) on board? I have heard that some cruise lines allow you to check such beverages. Does RC? I can't seem to find the answer in any of my trip documents. Thank you in advance! Newbcruiser1 Posted June 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2009 They claim not to allow you to bring drinks onboard, however people do it. We just did it on our cruise - put luggage tags on 2 cases of soda, left them with the porters with our checked luggage, and they showed up in our room. Some people put them in a small suitcase and carry them onboard or check them as well.

We always take a case of water onto the ship and check it. It always shows up in the stateroom and no one every questions it. We have even taken on a large cooler filled with soda/
JanineM Posted June 30, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 30, 2009 I normally bring a single six pack of Pepsi Max bottles. The water on the ship is more filtered and purified than most of the stuff you get on land!
cb at sea Posted June 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 30, 2009 As long as it's not alcohol, they don't care. Truly. Bring what you want. However, the water on the ship is fine. After all, the ice is made with it. The food is mixed with it, and cooked in it. The tea and coffee, lemonade, etc... is made with the water. But, if you want to, bring it. Be aware that the water on the ship is very "soft"--no minerals, so a dab of shampoo will lather forever!!! You'll need about 1/3 of what you normally use! MoYerclan Posted June 30, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 30, 2009 The water on board is fine to drink. Bring a single bottle of water (per person) if you must, but refill it with ships water. This will also cut down on the environmental insult of all those extra bottles in the trash.
