CasaSmith Posted July 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2009 My DH and I will sailing on the 14 day Eurodam from Quebec City to Fort Lauderdale and I am trying to see how many formal nights there will be? I would think 4 but not sure. I figure the first one would be the second night when we leave Quebec City and then on Thursday night, and then when? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much,
RedmondCruiser Posted July 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2009 Four is correct but depending on the itinery and port departure times it could be three.
jtl513 Posted July 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2009 How soon do you need to know? When you print out your Boarding Pass it now shows there how many you will have - but not which nights. :(

CasaSmith Posted July 20, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Thank you all for your resposnes. Is there anywhere in the Eurodam that we would not have to dress for a formal night if we want to miss one? Thanks,

Yes, you can eat in the Lido or order room service. Technically the entire ship is supposed to be formal for the evening, not just the main dining room, but it is never enforced in the Lido and you'll find lots of casual company there. :)

We have always just had room service and stuck to our room to respect HAL's formal rules. (I'm not counting hitting the Ocean Bar for happy hour!) Krazy Kruizers Posted July 20, 2009 #10 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Yes -- HAL has become very relaxed about the dress code for dinner in the Lido.
sylteach Posted July 21, 2009 #11 Share Posted July 21, 2009 My father first refused to dress up for formal dinners. He has cruised for many years so he knows "the score." My daughter has never experienced one and we don't want to leave dad to eat on his own. I have convinced him to take nice dress pants, a dress shirt, and a sport coat. He refuses to wear a tie. He says he only wears ties for grandchildren's weddings. He is 81. Will they refuse to let him eat in the dining room? My daughter and I will be wearing cocktail dresses. RuthC Posted July 21, 2009 #12 Share Posted July 21, 2009 Will they refuse to let him eat in the dining room? It's a possibility they will refuse admission to him, but unlikely.

Slip one of his ties into your pocket and if he needs it you'll have it. :D
mszula Posted July 21, 2009 #14 Share Posted July 21, 2009 It seems to me that in March the only rule for the Lido on formal nights was no shorts.
