gridswaldtravlers Posted July 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2009 Hey guys, My DH doesn't drink but likes his O'douls. Can you bring it on ship? We are going out on the Carnival May 25th 2010. Please let me know Thanks in advance
firefly333 Posted July 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2009 Not unless you smuggle it onboard, (lots of smuggling threads on how to disguise it as soda etc). Only allowed one bottle of wine per adult, no other alchohol.
LHP Posted July 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2009 I know that ODouls does not have alcohol in it, but I believe since it is still considered a "beer" ... that you would not be allowed to carry it on. Soda and water are allowed...and I don't believe that ODouls will fit into either catagory.

salty dingo Posted July 12, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2009 No different than bringing on any other type of alcohol. The fact that it doesn't have much alcohol does not change the fact that it is beer, so you'll need to take your chances with smuggling it. My advice would be to use cans (we prefer plastic bottles, but I don't think beer comes in them.) Get some 12 packs of soda and remove the cans and replace with the beer, then glue them back shut. Make sure any openings in the carton are next to real soda cans and not beer.

firefly333 Posted July 12, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 12, 2009 I think it's non alcoholic. Looks like it has some, just not a lot? My cut and paste didnt work, ran together, but it has a tiny bit, so who knows?? But dont think it would be considered soda or water either? CwuzCwazy Posted July 13, 2009 #9 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I seem to remember that the ships normally carry O'Douls and one other non-alchoholic beer.
sillysailor 1955 Posted July 13, 2009 #10 Share Posted July 13, 2009 You should have no problem bringing this on as O'Doul's is NON-ALCOHOLIC:)
Kudos2Fly Posted July 13, 2009 #11 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Carnival does carry O'Doul's. I called my PVP about this question, my husband doesn't drink either.. But doesn't like O'Douls we have St. Paula NA beer.. My PVP said you can bring on 1 six pack per-person for a 7 day cruise... No Problem. But Carnival does have O'Douls as there NA beer. calgarygary Posted July 13, 2009 #12 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I think this is a question to email Carnival about and if you receive a positive response, print it and take it with you in case you have issues at embarkation.
silverado44 Posted July 13, 2009 #13 Share Posted July 13, 2009 You should have no problem bringing this on as O'Doul's is NON-ALCOHOLIC:) This is incorrect. O'Douls has an alcohol content of 0.4%
sillysailor 1955 Posted July 13, 2009 #14 Share Posted July 13, 2009 This is incorrect. O'Douls has an alcohol content of 0.4% Accordingly to their website it is NON-ALCOHOLIC
salty dingo Posted July 13, 2009 #15 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Accordingly to their website it is NON-ALCOHOLIC  All that means is that Alcoholics won't like it. It still has alcohol, but not enough to matter. I don't think it falls under the soda / water category, so they will probably not like you bringing it onboard, but if you conceal it you will probably succeed. BlueJacketsFan1 Posted July 13, 2009 #16 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I would have to say they would not, but if you pack cans in a soda 12 pack you would probably be ok. I have always told friend if the person can tell the difference between a beer can and a soda can on an x-ray. Than he is "The Man" and could gladly take the beer. silverado44 Posted July 13, 2009 #17 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Accordingly to their website it is NON-ALCOHOLIC  If you go to the O'douls website, you have to enter your birthdate to state you are over 21 years old. When you enter, it states at the bottom, less than 0.5% alcohol. Nowhere does it say it is NON-Alcoholic. Good try. http://www.realbeer.com/edu/health/calories2.php http://www.odouls.com/
