7 mile beach w/kids

We are doing the Stringray city tour with Moby Dicks on our upcoming cruise. We are hoping to stop at 7 mile beach for a little bit afterwards. Is there a particaular area of the beach that is better with kids? Our girls are 12 & 6 yrs. old.

We went to the beach at Royal Palms twice in the last 3 years. We did not use their chairs or rental stuff, but we just walked right past it to a shady spot under a big tree and plunked our stuff down. We didn't use a chair since we were in the water and walking down the beach so much. It's an absolutely gorgeous spot. I saw iguanas up near a little house next to the beach. The first time we were there, we got lunch from Royal Palms and ate it at our spot. You can also use their restrooms, shower, etc. If you want to rent jet skis, they are also available at Royal Palms. Of course, you can sit on their chairs - I'm not sure what they charge. We like to sit there for free! ;) We have a 12 year old daughter. She didn't want to leave. (We took a $2 float and blew it up when we got there. When we left, we just gave it to a kid.)

Any part of the beach is fine....it's all public. There are restrooms and eateries up and down the beach, so it will just be a short jaunt if you need those facilities! Buses come to the access points on a regular basis to take you back to the ship ($4 pp????) Watersport rentals are also avail. all along the beach. It doesn't matter where you stop! Do keep an eye on the traffic--sometimes, the road gets REALLY backed up, and you'll want to allow enough time to get back to the ship!
