  1. I'm going to check thrift stores! It's probably something I won't care to wear anywhere else! šŸ˜
  2. Thanks for the photos of breakfast. We will be staying there, too. Looking forward to it!
  3. Did the bus stop at the top for long enough to get off and take photos? How long? Or did you have to wait for the next bus? When you say blue trolley city bus, was this another option besides the "train" and HOHO bus? Thanks!
  4. Hi Joyce! We'll be on the same cruise! We plan to walk around Copenhagen. I've looked at self-guided walking tours online. There's lots to see. We also plan to take a boat ride that leaves from the Nyhavn canal. It's reasonably priced and is one hour long. For a nightlight, I bring battery tea lights. The battery lasts longer than the trip if I turn it off during the day. No plug needed! I am puzzled what to do about water, also. We usually order a couple of cases of water that are delivered to our cabin on another cruise line. The "no plastic bottles" rule makes it tricky to figure out what to drink!
  5. Where did you eat dinner? We're staying in that area before we board Nieuw Statendam. Enjoying your review!
  6. Thanks for your report! This sounds like a great tour, but I'm torn since taking it would mean missing out on seeing Alesund. Hmmm....
  7. We'll be cruising the Norwegian Fjords on Nieuw Statendam at the end of July! Enjoying your trip report. I mainly came here to say you are very entertaining! šŸ˜
  8. Gede is a super common name in Bali. It's one of three names given to firstborn children. šŸ™‚
  9. ExpatBride, Sounds like we're on your cruise! What do you plan to do in Eidfjord?? Only 69 more days!
  10. HAL sails from Vancouver. I don't know where Princess sails from - Vancouver or Seattle. Vancouver is better since you spend your first and last day on the Inside Passage rather than in the open Pacific on the other side of Vancouver Island. You're smart to choose one that includes Glacier Bay. To me, that's the highlight not to be missed. I did a Princess cruise to Alaska LONG ago and loved it. Then I did HAL to Alaska in 2012 and loved it, too. My teen daughter called it "The Nursing Home at Sea." Ha! We didn't care about that. The food was great and the ship was beautiful.
  11. We will be on Nieuw Statendam in July. If the price for the 14-day cruise for unlimited laundry is $119, may I assume the price for a 7-day cruise would be roughly half that?
