Tisinge Posted August 13, 2015 #506 Share Posted August 13, 2015 We will be visiting Cairo next year and are wondering what you ended up doing Thanks. We used Ramses Tour (if there is any chance you can get Amir Fawzy as your tour guide, you will have the best visit/tour you can imagine). Highlights The Pyramids of Egypt, The Sphinx, The step pyramid of Sakkara, Memphis, The Egyptian Museum (make sure you go in the Mummy Room), River Nile solar boat ride. Sakkara which is part of Memphis's massive necropolis, and the burial site of the most ancient Pharaohs where you will see the first pyramids build in Egypt "Step Pyramid of King Djoser that was designed by Imhotep, the ancient Egyptian architect also you will visit tomb in Sakkara then drive for lunch (included) on your way you will see the places where ancient Egyptians lived, you will see the oldest history alive in front of you. Then you will be transferred to Memphis, the ancient Capital of Egypt to visit the colossal statue of Ramses II and nearby a still half-buried Hathor Temple Your Egyptologist will then take you to the home of Egypt’s signature attractions so you can visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world... the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the middle pyramids of Chephren and the little one of Mykerinos as well as the mysterious Sphinx: the Father of Terror for the ancient pharaohs. This tour includes a visit to the valley temple facing the great sphinx. Stay at the Mena House for at least 1 night, get a room with a view of the Pyramids. 5 star hotel, a wonderful experience. My wife and I did a two day tour, with 1 night at the Mena Hotel, with tour guide and driver, all entrance fees included for $600. Unbelievably great deal. info@ramsestours.com

bajapaula Posted December 5, 2015 #511 Share Posted December 5, 2015 I recently sailed on the Seabourn Sojourn and stopped in Aqaba, Jordan on Nov 7, 2015. I had used Ramses or Ramasside Tours three times before and had wonderful private tours from Safaga, Sharm El Sheikh, and Alexandria. I contacted them to see if they would arrange a tour for me from Aqaba to Petra. There were three of us and we had the most fabulous all day tour to Petra. I highly recommend them. ramassidetours.com Paula

jesssophie Posted May 3, 2016 #513 Share Posted May 3, 2016 My family of 5 just returned from a cruise that stopped at Safaga. Safaga Port is nearly 300 Km from Luxor. Our bus ride from the port to Luxor was 4 hours, with 1 not 2 stops on the way to Luxor. Our outstanding tour guide, Adham Farouk, used the time to provide our group with a wide range of information concerning life in Egypt as well as information concerning the sites that we would visit in Luxor and the surrounding area. His knowledge of each of the sites that we visited greatly enhanced our enjoyment of this tour. Karnak Temple is an amazing site, as are the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. We had ample time to visit each of these sites. For those interested in photography, Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Queens provide excellent opportunities to be creative with their cameras. Unfortunately, cameras are not permitted in the Valley of the Kings due to the potential damage to the extremely old pigments in the tombs. Driving from the east bank of the Nile River where the Karnak Temple is located to the west bank of the river where the valleys of the Kings and Queens are located reqires approximately 1 hour of travel on the roads. Our group crossed the river on a small boat and had lunch while our driver brought the bus to the oposite of the river. This is just a small example of how Ramses Tours maximizes the limited time available for a one day vist to Luxor from Safaga port. The Egyptian relics in the Luxor area are well worth visiting and I highly recommend using the services of Ramses Tours AKA Ramasside Tours to maximize your visit to this area. bear120410 Posted July 11, 2016 #517 Share Posted July 11, 2016 We just booked a small group overnight Cairo/Alexandria tour for 6 persons from the USA with Ramasside Tours. We will be arriving on Oceania's Insignia in Sept. Mr. AboGazia was a pleasure to work with. All our correspondence was answered within 24 hours, sometimes even quicker if we caught the time difference right. We'll post a review after the tour, but so far everything has gone quite smoothly. rojojacko Posted August 13, 2016 #519 Share Posted August 13, 2016 We are on an Oceania cruise in August/September and have just booked a full day tour to Cairo from Port Said with Ramasside. Visiting the Pyramids, Sphinx, felucca on the Nile, lunch and sightseeing which was just what we wanted but plenty of other options. Process was very quick and easy by email and we are hopeful that Egypt won't be pulled from the itinerary. Pay at the end of the tour in £, €, $ or Egyptian pounds so all is covered. Looking forward to the cruise and this visit. Rob

Mexfolkart Posted September 7, 2016 #522 Share Posted September 7, 2016 I believe that the Oberai Mena House is now the new name of the hotel we stayed in before. This hotel is right at the Pyramids and we sat there having lunch looking at a pyramid, and from our room balcony could see a pyramid.. spectacular!! Another time we were right on the Nile with our room facing the Nile traffic...it just depends which you prefer. If we only had one night there we would choose the pyramid view!! twigstansel Posted November 5, 2016 #525 Share Posted November 5, 2016 We will be on the Oceania cruise ship Nautica in April and have booked with Ramses tours. They have been so helpful and have answered all my questions quickly. Their responses did go to my spam folder but were easy to spot. I highly recommend dealing with them. I've read very good reviews about them and appreciate the fact that you do not have to pay anything upfront. We look forward to seeing Luxor with them.
