My husband and I will be on the Celebrity Summit from Venice to Barcelona on September 19 - October 3, 2009. We would like to take private tours in some of the ports, and are hoping to find others on this cruise who might like to join us and split costs. We are from South Florida.

Specifically, we are interested in taking a private tour from Naples to Sorrento, Positano, and possibly Amalfi. Also, we would like to do a private tour from Villefranche to Saint-Paul de Vence to visit Fondation Maeght, have lunch, shop, see the Matisse Museum in Vence and visit the village of Eze.

Other places we may consider privately are Athens, and possibly the first day in Rome to see the Vatican, Colosseum, Forum and stay later in the evening to be able to see the city illuminated at night before returning to the ship. If any of this sounds good to you and you are our shipmates, let us know! Other suggestions also welcome.

Welcome to Cruise Critic and thank you for your first post! However, you have posted on the Cruise Blogs & Websites Forum where members share their personal cruise-related travelogue blogs or websites with their fellow Cruise Critic members. This is not the correct forum for your post since it is off-topic here and it is a Guidelines violation. 05.gif

When you have a chance, please read the Sticky post titled What is a ROLL CALL and how do I find mine? at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44773. The Sticky post will tell you important information about our Roll Calls and how to locate the Roll Call thread for your cruise. That's the correct place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you before the cruise.

A portion of the post states the following:

Please note, the Cruise Critic Guidelines do not allow personal ads of any kind in posts. This would include personal ads looking to share shore excursions/tours, transportation, etc. Posts of this nature are removed from all forums... with one exception. If you are sailing on a specific ship and departure date, you may post your share request on the Roll Call thread for your cruise. You are targeting the specific group of people who would be most inclined to share since they are already sailing with you. Please remember, do not start a new Roll Call thread with your share request. Use your existing Roll Call thread to post your share request.

Your fellow Roll Call members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. To help you find your Roll Call thread quicker, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=751819 for your Celebrity Summit "Connections" Roll Call thread titled Summit - September 19, 2009 - Med/Legacies. Your Roll Call thread is the ONLY place on Cruise Critic where you and your fellow Roll Call members can post personal ads about sharing tours, excursions, transportation etc. with each other. Your Roll Call thread has a "captive audience" since everyone is sailing together! 05.gif

Since your cruise is 7 days or longer, don't forget to register for the "Connections" Party hosted by Celebrity Cruises for you and your fellow Cruise Critic Roll Call members. This will be a time and place on the ship with refreshments to meet everyone face to face after getting to know one another on your Roll Call thread. Click the following links for more information:

- Register to attend a Connections Party

To research for information from your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28 for the Celebrity Cruises Forum. Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=114 to research our Ask a Cruise Question Forum for even more information. If you are a new cruiser, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=97 to research our First Time Cruisers Forum. To research for information about your ports of call click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 for our Ports of Call Forums. That's where you can research for hotels, tours, excursions, transportation etc. Your fellow Cruise Critic members post their reviews/recommendations there. In your case, you will want to research the Ports of Call - Europe - Mediterranean - Eastern & Western Forum at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=234.

Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/index.php for the list of all Cruise Critic message board forums and be sure to read all Announcement and Sticky posts at the top of the various forums for very important information or instructions.

Please feel free to use the Search this Forum feature on all Cruise Critic message board forums with your key word or words. It will help narrow down the threads you will want to read during your research. Also, you can see if your inquiry has been asked and answered before. And it probably has... many, many times! 05.gif

Click the Search this Forum feature to open the drop down menu. Type in your key word or words then click the little Go button. I suggest you do not try a search with too many or too common of key words at one time. This will sometimes overwhelm the search feature with too many threads to scan and it will time out. From time to time, you may receive an error message that says "Search function is down". PLEASE TRY AGAIN in a few moments. This message will often pop up during the busiest times of the day. Also, be sure to read the Sticky post titled How To Perform More Detailed and Specific Searches on the Boards at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=969846.

The following information may be helpful too:

Be sure to read our FAQ, especially the Getting Started section. You will see how a new topic should be consistent with the specific forum you choose. It also gives a brief summary of the topics covered in some of the forum sections. Other important FAQ sections are Subscriptions (Receiving e-mail notification of replies to posts and threads you specify) and User Maintenance.

In the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free membership, please note the Please Browse BEFORE You Post section since many of your questions may have been asked and answered before as mentioned above.

While doing your research, be sure you are on the correct forum. After you have browsed/researched for your topic and possibly not found an answer, word your new inquiry title so the other members scrolling through the thread titles will know exactly the information you seek. This will help the members as they scroll through the thread titles so they can reply to you. It is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic or concerning one cruise line, port of call, etc. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship & sail date in your inquiry if it will help the members with their answers to you. Also, do not use your user name

KArts for the title of your thread as you did this one.

If you wonder what some of the icons/symbols/arrows on Cruise Critic mean, just use your mouse to hover your cursor over the item and most often a tool-tip will appear with the name or action.

Per the Guidelines, your post should be removed. However, since you are a new member I closed your thread and will leave it on this forum so you can see this reply and not wonder where your post went.

I sincerely hope this will be satisfactory, even though it is not the type of reply you were expecting.

Glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! 05.gif
