hughdm Posted August 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2009 how strict are the weight limits enforced on shore tours:)Helicopter tours on Hilo, everybody had to get on a scale. They balance the helicopter as they load. Nobody was over on our tour, but I bet they pay attention in this case.
Toto2Kansas Posted August 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2009 What type of tour are you considering? If maybe a helicopter tour? Then yes, they will weigh you bofore you board the helicopter so they can distribute the weight evenly. Horseback riding? They have never weighed us in, but they can get a good guess by looking at you. ;)

SeaMatesNYC Posted August 15, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2009 For helicopter tours, if you weigh over 250 lbs, you must purchase TWO tickets. There is a surcharge and after you are weighed at the departure point, you will be given a slip to be presented back at the ship in order to be charged the actual additional charge (based upon lbs over 250) with the balance (on ticket #2) refunded to you. Toto2Kansas Posted August 15, 2009 #12 Share Posted August 15, 2009 Nope! All you need to put into your signature is the actual code.
-Lew- Posted August 15, 2009 #13 Share Posted August 15, 2009 As Toto explained, you need to paste just the code into your edit signature box. Copy the BOLD BLUE code in my message above into your edit signature box and it should look like the graphic below. Lew
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted August 15, 2009 #14 Share Posted August 15, 2009 The didn't weigh us for our helicopter ride in Alaska. But they did say that you shouldn't lie as it's for our safety and "you wouldn't want to the heli to crash now would you?" (yikes!) And remember, it's your weight with all your clothes on since you are wearing clothes in the Helicopter. In Alaska that was a lot of clothes!! I made sure I went running for a few days before the tour!! :D
