Tipping the Butler

At the end of the cruise, do you generally tip the butler? If so, what's appropriate, assuming great service?

No. You can if you like, but it is discouraged.

 

If you believe the staff overall did a good job, you can contribute something at Registration to the crew welfare fund. This will be distributed evenly, or will go towards a party or something like that.

Unless your butler did something for you that were outside of the scope of his responsibilities, tipping is not expected (as per Regent guidelines)

The service should be great and Regent do not expect you to tip your butler or anyone else. Feel free though to contribute at reception to the Crew Fund, which benefits everyone, including the many behind the scenes staff.

We tipped our butler at the end of our last cruise.

 

After he picked himself up and dusted off his jacket, he was quite upset. . .so I'd recommend not tipping your butler.
