Bg on crown princess

Booked BG guaranteed on Crown Princess. Deck plans only show 4 BGs, is that correct?

Booking BG guarantees you a balcony. You will most likely be upgraded to a different category balcony. We booked BG for our November 21 cruise on the Crown. Received our cabin last night - B631, which is a BD category.

look at it this way on the 25 oct 09 Emerald there are 3 m cat cabins. There is w/ only for inside cabins and yet the line is showing 9 available M GTYs! Booking the min guarantees the minimum but one almost always gets at least a modest upgrade as there are far fewer bottom cabins than cabins sold at that rate.

How do you see the number of available GTYs?

It's not the number of GTYs, it is the actual number of cabins in that class according to the color codes on the deck plan.

If all you see available is a GTY for that class, it means that all of that class cabins are booked or reserved (for example, by a travel agent hoping to book them).

 

Booking a GTY means that if some of those cabins are cancelled or not sold by a travel agaent, Princess then will have a cabin of the class you booked to assign to you.

 

Like an airline that books more passengers than seats, Princess may book for GTYs for a class than cabins available in that class. That is when the upgrades start, even if it is only an upgrade to the next class such as from M to L.
