Eastern or Western Caribbean?

I did the western last year and loved it (Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize, Nassau)....What am I missing out on if I chose to do the western again this year? Anybody really love the Eastern ports? And Why?

Personally I prefer the Western Caribbean over the Eastern Caribbean. With that said many times people want to do both so that they see a variety of places rather than visiting the same places over and over.

I view Western as more adventure and more varied excursion opportunities. Eastern, while it has adventure options, it seems to be more beach-y oriented. So it really depends on what you like and want to do.

We just did our first Western in February and we didn't care for it and will only stick to the Eastern and Southern routes from now on.

 

We are not really "excursion" type people because we mostly enjoy a little shopping and some beach time, so I guess that's why it did not appeal to us.

You should try Eastern just to see what it is like - then decide for yourself.

Loved the Western - did the same ports you mentioned. This time around we are trying Eastern. I hope we like it. We are not shoppers and don't want to do "beach" days EVERY day.

 

Oh well, love to be on the ship too so I'm sure we'll have a great vacation....

 

I say give Eastern a try!!
