EbayCruiser Posted August 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2009 What kind of weather should we expect the second week in October for Boston, Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, PEI and Quebec City? We are planning on taking jeans and tennis shoes for excursions, also a rain jacket. Will we get to wear any capri's or shorts? Do we need to pack a sweat shirt or fleece? TheWog Posted August 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2009 Unfortunately, the answer to all your questions is yes or no. Warm days, cool nights is what to expect, but Fall can be a very strange time in New England and no way to predict really, especially this far out. I have worn shorts through the end of October some years and we have had snow before Halloween (Southern NH). You might be able to wear shorts on the beginning part of your trip, but as you move north you will want to wear the jeans. A shorts with a sweatshirt combination will usually work. Definitely pack the fleece/sweatshirt as you will certainly need it in the evening. Layers is what we usually recommend. Put on the sweatshirt, etc. in the morning, but have something under so you can take it off and be comfortable. It is a beautiful time of year to be here and Fall is our favorite season, but it is hard to predict accurately what you will get from year to year. Have a great trip. Rare Keith1010 Posted August 26, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2009 Just like other places around the world the weather can vary. It could be warm, cool or in between. It's best to check the weather as you are nearing the cruise to have a better idea. Keith
EbayCruiser Posted August 26, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted August 26, 2009 Thanks for the reply. Yes ... I do plan on checking the weather the closer we get to cruising. I had an idea that layering would be the best way to go. Thanks again, Vickie
