Portland Maine - Pub Crawl

We are thinking of doing a pub crawl in Portland on our own. Can anyone tell me if there are a number of pubs within walking distance to the pier. Also any suggestions of specific pubs would be great. The wife is always partial to Irish pubs, but all recommendations would be appreciated.

Re rah's is a great irish pub 300 ft from the dock. Jay's, Gilbert's, Dimello's

Three dollar Dewey's all a ten min. walk from the ship on commercial st.

Many more in the immediate area.

What are the local draft beers that are recommended?

 

Any good Ambers? (Like Amber Bock, Yingling Black and Tan)?

Lots of pubs to walk around in. When you stop at Three Dollar Dewey's -- check out the tee shirt by the front wall ... It states the meaning behind the name. (Kind of PG13 rated). Jan
