Will "Hairspray" on Oasis OTS be appropriate for kids?

For those of you who have seen "Hairspray" the musical or movie, is it appropriate for a 10 year old, or should I leave her in the kids club for that one? I assume it's ok for my 13 year old.

 

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If I remember correctly, it's fine for kids...nothing "overt".

Your 10 year old will probably not notice the racial issues that are discussed and just enjoy the musical numbers.

 

If you are unsure, why not rent the movie and watch it first?

My twin 4 year olds have watched the movie so often, they know all the songs by heart. In my opinion, it has great messages for kids - except the skipping school to be on tv :rolleyes:.

Hairspray is hilarious . I took my daughter to see film (John Travolta) she was 10 + loved it some of the humour was a little grown up for her but it went over her head ,we had to buy the DVD and last summer went to see it in London. At her dancing class they use the music to dance to as it is so catchy . I dont think that the racial story would be an issue ,enjoy the show!!
