Like a few others, I prefer the personal approach. Thus the staff are tipped appropriately. They still give the envelopes and the breakdowns, so why not use it. Plus, I don't think tipping is awkward, if anything, I take great satisfaction in tipping people who make my life easier. I think all but one time, I gave more then the recommended amounts - so good on those crew members, they did great.
The only time we didn't over tip was because we ate only once in the MDR - the first night. We still tipped him but not as per usual.
IMO, everyone has their own way of doing things, I was in the service industry for years and prefer the personal approach. To each their own.

Just rent a mini van or SUV for the 8 days and park it. Mine was $175 through Priceline...
Travel at your own pace and you have return transport.

NCL has it too. Does royal have the app throughout the fleet? Or just ones with zoom?
What's the app called?

If your doing Naples. Just get off the boat, go over to the Hydroshuttles to Capri and then grab a couple of scooters and do the island.
Best excursion I've done, and we did it on our own.

We've had our kids in connecting rooms since they were 3 & 5. Not sure what the big deal is.
For a cross the hall, it will def be at least 10

Dubrovnik is absolutely breathtaking, especially the old city.
Out of Naples, is the island of Capri. This island .... Well, it's been 10yrs since I've been there, I've travelled pretty much the world and my wife and I still agree that this is probably the best place we've ever been.
So, ya, take the Venice trip! Lol

This sale was great, we cancelled our reso with our usual TA and went with another company.
This company's website was incorrect about the reduction, apparently it was entered in wrong and ended up doubling the savings. We ended up saving $700 for the two of us, instead of $350.
Within an hour after we booked, the website was fixed, lol.

Nope not Casey..
He was on the allure for sept 2013, I'm searching. But can't find that list!
Edit: found it - it was Allan Brooks

I apologize if this is in the wrong place but who is the CD that looks like Rob Corrdry? For the life of me, I can't remember his name. Had him on the Allure a few years back, he's been the best CD I've sailed with yet.

We had this happen to us on our first cruise with Royal, in 05. A port strike in Barcelona caused an 18 hour delay and we missed our flights back to NA.
Royal ended up compensating for our full flights back, all expenses from off the boat to home and $500 certificates for each of us. We were never promised any of this but we did receive it all within a month after our cruise. We did have to use them within a year though, although we did call them and got them extended for another year.

Wow, seriously the best review I've read. It was like a book, it kept me wanting more! Also, great photos!
Thanks for all of this!

Question about the Internet: is the high speed internet limited to Oasis and Quantum classes? Are they on the Freedom class or any other?

I have read if you put your wine in plastic bottles in you checked luggage, the scanner will not detect them. Is this true? Just curious, I do not really drink enough to make it worthwhile.
No. They detect the liquid. You can see it on the scanners. Alcohol is orange!
Saw this mom and 20yr old daughters come on board with a 24pack of water. Guess the mom had replaced 6 bottles with vodka. After going through the scanner, they knew exactly what bottles to pull.
The girls were giving it to the mom afterwards, pretty funny scene.

On rare occasion it's even OK to eat at McDonald's.
No, no it's not....

Put me in group who loved the entertainment on the Epic. Cirque, BMG and Dueling pianos
This was in March. What a great time!

I like sleeping on the balcony, for me I love humidity, as long as I have a small breeze.
Seriously, get yourself a hammock. It's great!
-
Brilliance was mine and my wife's first ship and we loved it. If anything, the self levelling pool tables did it for me. A lot of class on that ship.

I would cast a vote for Serenity. It would go well with Oasis, Allure, and Harmony.
And just reading this , i instantly think of Frank Costanza! Lol
But this is the name I like, as well.

When this started, we went through carry on with 2 in each bag. Didn't get stopped. Some people we met told us how many we are allowed. We were shocked, but happy! Lol

If the child is not potty trained then regulations require that she not be in the pool. No diapers, swim diapers, etc. It's good they were enforcing this, as the health of the other children is at stake.
This. Clearly breaking rules. They have a splash pool for infants.

Last March I was on the Epic. There are reasonable pros and cons with NCL just as there is with RCI.
I did like being able to order pub food in the pub. This was my fav place to eat.
Loved Cirque but BMG was just ok.
Loved eating at the Sushi Bar. Thought the buffet was just ok. Never went to any MDR's
Ice bar is a waste of time and money.
The "white party" was great. It's a great theme and I hardly saw anyone not dressed in white.
Casino has an actual poker table. You won't believe how much of big thing this is for me.
The staff was very friendly and easy to chat with. Although one server was talking rude to me, the bar manager saw this and quickly spoke to her and then apologized to me. Which was cool and surprising, as I has sluffed it off.
My real only complaint was the room layout. First we had a mini suite, which is basically a balcony On RCI. But the layout was terrible.
Overall, a really good time. BUT, lol, I was missing the Allure the entire time! Fortunately, the complimentary UBP helped me through my time of need!

So much negativity towards Jamaica, I've sailed there 4 times and the first three were busts cause of the weather. The fourth, we took a cab to the Blue Hole and then to Scotches for lunch. Seriously, best island time I had on the entire cruise.
Venture out people...just saying.

Sounds like deck 6 is the main culprit. We're booked on deck 13 next year. Crossing fingers.
Liberty of the Seas - just got busted for a power strip!

This! Have had one of the for my last 4 cruises. I never even knew they were illegal.
Also, I'm guilty of bringing the iron aboard, not sure if it's how I pack it but I've brought it since my first cruise in 05. It's always on top, plain view, if opened.
