  1. I"ve probably won over 30,000 on my cruises put together. I also won a poker seat on the Liberty of the Seas. I think that's why i want to go on them so much! I've won, mainly on craps and poker. Not braggin, but i don't think i've paid for a cruise yet!

On my first cruise, we did see this lady win over 9,000 on slots and then over 12,000 two pulls later on a different machine. Now that' was a lucky day for her

  2. Seriously, in the 12 years that I have cruised, I've never had a problem bringing water, juice or even Starbucks Ice Coffee cans on board.

I didn't even know it was against policy until lately.

Just bring your juice and don't hide it.

(if you lose $20 worth of water or juice, then you lose it. Don't sweat it)

  3. We booked onboard while dining in Chops and got a much better price

    This!

If you don't mind waiting a few days then book on board. We were always planning to do the chef's dinner at some point during our cruise but by the 4th day, we were offered 40% off and our kids free (like we would bring our kids...lol). So it was a no brainer. It seems they can't always fill the seats by the the latter half of the cruise, so out come the d/c's.

I've done the Chef's dinner both times on the Allure. Same chef for both dinners and the second dinner was with Adam Goldstein and family. Really good time.

  4. Saw the Blue Man Group on Epic several years ago. I was so glad I didn't pay $100 in Vegas to see it. I really liked the Legends on the Epic and Rock of Ages on the Breakaway. The best show ever on a cruise ship was the water show on the Oasis of the Seas.

I saw that water show a few times on the Allure, I still think Chicago is the best show on the seas, overall.

  5. If you're talking about the new O3B service on Allure, then Epic can't compare. Epic uses the same old MTN system that most ships use. I used O3B's premium package on Quantum, and it blew everything else out of the water. Blazing fast.

The iConcierge app requires a $7.95 fee for calling and texting. It is not free. I'm not sure how it works on Epic, but it was spotty on Getaway.

Yes, there is a Chef's Table on Epic.

Thanks for this. One more question, was the phone just sketchy or both the phone and chat?

  6. Hi Everyone!

Going on my first NCL cruise on the Epic this March.

I've pretty much sailed on RCCL so I have a couple of minor questions:

    1. Does the Epic have high speed internet? (Got used to the Allures speed and wondered if it compared)

    2. Is the Messaging feature on the app allow for free chatting on the ship?

    3. What about the phone feature on the app?

    4. Is there a Chef's Table on the Epic?

(I did try to search out these answers but to no avail)

  7. You're welcome! I guess it's like Merion_Mom said, the prices might be higher for the 1st and 2nd that it might not be worth it. I was waiting until midnight to check but I'll take a look now.

    Thanks for the information.

The "deal" is up on their site and it they pretty much eliminated military rates and almost doubled the first two passenger rates...

    Good deal RCCL, good deal.....

    MM was bang on!

  8. Check prices carefully. There are already reports that 1st/2nd prices are higher, and you may not come out ahead.

And since it is for new bookings only, there will be what is called a "look back period", and if you violate it, they won't book you at the promotional rate.

I understand what your saying but I'll rebook with my agent (As I have rebooked, with lower rates, multiple times). Plus I'll use military rates, which rarely change. It's my go around and it's always worked in the past.

    Sneaky sneaky!

  9. When we were on the Allure a month ago, I explained to staff that my wife doesn't drink hard liquor and will be sharing a wine package with a friend. He sold me a single premium alcohol package without any hesitation.

I think there is definitely some leeway when you get in board compared to the posted rules on the website.

Can't wait for this new package! 8 months till my next cruise!

  10. On the June 30 cruise, there was an "unlimited" package priced at $179. I sure hope that was for the "unlimited access by all devices" vs. "unlimited for one device!"

See the Day 1 "Cruise Specials" flyer posted in swim13's review here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=39084541&postcount=54

We board in a few weeks and will report the going rate here.

Ya, I'd hope it was multiple users! Thanks in advance for the update.
