  1. Whatever you see on starboard side going north, you're going to see on port side coming back.
  2. In Boston the get-out-of your-room-time is 8:30 on the Boston-Bermuda-Bar Harbor run. The ship is empty by 9:30. Two weeks ago we checked in at 10:30 and were on the ship at 11:15.
  3. If you want to do Moderno or Teppanyaki, you would save $10.80 by buying an additional two meal dining package. ( $117.60 at the door price/ $106.80 dining package price.). The price you pay at the ala-carte restaurants would be totally dependent on what you eat.
  4. Soft serve twist with chocolate sauce- late night snack at the Great Outdoors- every night!!
  5. They're glorified balconies. The extras include being able to book to book dining and entertainment at 125 days instead of 120; a bottle of tubucs sparkling wine; treats ( cookies, chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries) delivered to your cabin several times; one free bag of laundry or pressing; coffee maker in room if requested. When they changed the name the price went up; the few extra offerings don't justify the increased cost.
  6. Twice a day. But if you just want once a day, just tell him/her and they'll clean in the AM or PM, your choice.
  7. Pick out what the third person may eat from the menu above, and then compare that to Teppanykis current price ( $49.00 plus 20% gratuity- $58.80).
  8. Thanks RocketMan275!! There are some seriously funny posts in that thread. I thought my wife and I were going to bust a gut laughing!! Especially the ones about "Pabst Beer" and the Scotland golf course!! Thanks again!!
  9. 11058 is below the restrooms on deck 12. 11630 is below the Great Outdoors. I personally would not choose 11058, as the sound of people constantly flushing the toilets would drive me nuts! You can go to a site called "cruise deck plans" and see your floor layout in-between the floors above and below. Prime spots are port forward of the fitness center, or starboard under the spa, library, card room, and photo room. Or the aft mini-suites.
  10. Don't know how long our very capable and scholarly HostStar will let this thread live ( flattery will get you everywhere) but here goes. Would like to hear jokes/ stories about cruising that bring a smile to your face. For instance, on our last cruise a few weeks ago, I heard someone ask the Hotel Director where the ship's electricity came from. He stated there was a very long extension cord plugged into an outlet in Boston! Or the lady who asked her steward where the crew slept at night, and was told a fleet of helicopters brings them home at night and back in the morning! You get the picture!!
  11. Does anyone know what the foreign names for "clothesline" are that are imprinted on the cover of the clothesline and spring mechanism?
  12. I'm sure Jozay was thrilled that Patti was refurbished back in 16!!
  13. The funny thing is there are adult, educated? folks here on CC who still call it " mustard drill". Just key the phrase into the CC search box. You will find past threads of people who referred to the muster drills as "mustard drills"!
  14. I knew I should have put a colon in there after I posted it!! It meant 14 cabins in all; 11 balcony cabin suites ( mini-suites), and 3 regular suites. On the eleventh deck of the Pearl ( and the rest of the Jewel class ships, IIRC) there are 10 two bedroom suites; the rest are club balcony suites. That's why our steward had a mix of clubs and suites.
  15. You're right! They are a good, if not better, choice. However, there are only seven of them on the Pearl, and are generally not an affordable choice to a great many of us. So therefore, did not include them in my post.
  16. On our cruise on the Pearl two weeks ago, our room steward said he was responsible for 14 cabins, 3 suites and 11 club balcony ( mini) suites.
  17. Some of us actually like to board the ship and head to the MDR or O'Sheehan's for a leisurely sit down lunch. Our cabin has always been ready by the time we are finished. What's the hurry? Evidently, NCLs cabin readiness upon boarding doesn't meet your criteria, so maybe you should stick with Cunard?
  18. Was simply trying to inject a little humor in my answer to your question. Obviously, you didn't take my answer as humorous. So...have a good life!
  19. There are three draws under the TV/ shelf area. There are two more open shelves in the closet, under the safe. At the top of the closet is another shelf which holds the life preservers, with a couple square feet left to store additional items. It's enough to get by. The mini-suites on the Dawn and Gem have much more storage. The tubs are gone. Have been replaced with fairly large walk-in showers. IMHO, they are much better than the high, narrow tubs that were in the cabins. The difference in space between a balcony and a club balcony suite is approximately one hundred square feet, or about an extra ten by ten room. The balconies are fifty four square feet, compared to thirty eight square feet in a regular balcony cabin. The best place to book a club is on the starboard side front, under the spa, library, card room, and photo area; or on the port side in front of the fitness center. One last thought. We experienced a lot of "motion of the ocean" on our recent cruise. The closet doors are on rollers, and they would be constantly hitting the closet sides. Not good for sleeping! Eventually, I grabbed the rubber door wedge by the cabin door and wedged it between the two closet doors. Problem solved!! Enjoy your cruise!
  20. Swim? Seriously, fly to Anchorage and take a bus to Seward.
  21. Had $100.00 casino OBC credit last week. One of the places I could not use it was in the casino!. So bought the soda package and a couple coffees at Starbucks, Still left the ship with $8.00 or so credit.
  22. Give USPS a break! "Junk Mail" comprises over 50% of total mail volume. Everytime someone " goes paperless" it's another lost first class stamp or metered mail revenue. Times 12. If everyone could eliminate all junk mail, there wouldn't be a post office. Maybe the OP could pass the offending material on to someone else, possibly generating revenue for NCL? Even though he/she doesn't care for the NCL experience, his/her acquaintances might.
