What dining areas are open upon embarkation other than the buffet on the Sun?

We will be driving from Anchorage to Denali & would like to stop at the Musk Ox Farm. How far is the farm from the main highway to Denali?

Thanks ubarpants. The motel has been bought by new owners so we are hoping that they will be as friendly as the previous owners. Would you say that we should budget 30 minutes or longer to get to the WAC for the shuttle?

Has anyone stayed at Nord Haven while visiting Denali? Has good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were thinking of switching from Denali Princess Lodge because we keep reading how busy & large it is. Would appreciate input from experienced travelers.

Does anyone know if a Princess shuttle bus runs from the lodge to the WAC? I called Princess reservations & they were not sure. They said hotel shuttle runs to visitor center but we are going on Eielson shuttle bus which runs from the WAC. From what I have found online the WAC & visitor center are 2 different places.

We are disembarking on the Sun in Seward & were wondering if anyone has taken the NCL sponsored excursion for the train to Anchorage airport. Specifically we would like to know if the seating is all forward facing or table style & if the seating is in the domed car. Also are there dining options available for breakfast since it says we must leave the ship by 6am.

We will use the park connection bus.

After leaving the ship in Seward we would like to spend the day touring the area before going to Anchorage. Where can we store our luggage for the day if: (1) we take the evening train or (2) take the evening bus?

We will be taking a PWS tour in late May & would like help in making a choice between Major Marine & Phillips. Are there any major differences between the tours that they provide?

What are your suggestions for things to do in Homer?

We have begun to finalize our DIY itinerary & unfortunately we cannot do both Seward & Homer. We would like to have opinions from those who have experienced both in order to help us to make a final decision. In Seward we were planning the Bay tour only due to motion sickness problems, the Sealife Center, & Exit Glacier. In Homer we were planning on the bay tour to Seldovia, the Spit, the Pratt Museum, Alaska Ocean Center & Coastal Studies Center. We are leaning more toward Homer because we think the drive there will allow us to experience more of the Alaska small towns. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated in helping us make our final decision.

I would like to know if it is necessary to make reservations for the Kenai Fjords Tour. I was thinking that we could wait & see the weather conditions the day of the tour before we booked. My wife has a tendency to get sea sick. Is this too risky? We will be in Seward on June 1 & 2.

We are looking at a midship oceanview with a porthole on the Sun for 2016. How large is the porthole ? We would rather the larger picture window oceanview cabin but it is not located midship. I have not been able to find any photos of a cabin with the porthole for the Sun.

We will end our cruise in Seward & staying for a few days. We would like to go to Exit Glacier, the Sealife Center, & do the Kenai Ntl. Park cruise. We will be able to do all of this without renting a car? Also we will be using Seward Bus Line to transfer to Anchorage. Anyone use this company in the past?

Would like suggestions of other sites & activities. We are middle aged & active & into viewing nature. We would also like to know of some good places to eat - especially seafood. We are thinking of taking the Park Connection Bus from Anchorage to Denali. Which hotels are drop off points for the bus? Also do these hotels provide shuttles to the park entrance? Planning is beginning to feel overwhelming so help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did the 7 day Alaska cruise on the Pearl & loved everything about it. The Pearl is the sister ship to the Jewel. We have done 2 NCL cruises & really enjoy freestyle cruising.
