  1. I remember when even public buses had windows to open. A godsend.
  2. Suggest you book with lifecenters soon. They are not a huge company and word is getting out about their very good pricing. We found them very helpful and professional.
  3. Thx Roxy. I asked my question before I looked and saw we were far from the only ones. Patience will win out, or the cruise will start snd it won’t matter! Technology can really be a PITA can’t it?
  4. I have the app on my tablet with no problem. DH is trying to get it to open on his phone but it won’t open. It says there is a problem connecting to the internet. Any ideas of how we can get two devices to work? Thx.he has tried disconnecting and reconnecting several times.
  5. If you plan on using a set appointment proctor get it set now. If you are going to join a queue for a proctor it can be a bit of a wait at certain times I hear. yMMV!
  6. Looks to me online is going to be the way to go. Bring a rapid test with you and use it in Van. Only problem is you need to be sure your cellphone will cross the boarder, have the right carrier, or use a Canadian tester. Or do a very last minute test from the USA just before leaving…you can find somewhere to print the results after you arrive ex hotel or just use your email message and take a photo. Good luck to all.
  7. Whow! Thank you so very much! This is amazing. We can plan each day perfectly to do the things most important to us. You have obviously done a huge amount of work on these.
  8. Thanks Gnome. I stoped looking when I found what I wanted….Canada to Alaska. You filled in the blanks for others. .
  9. Thinking about reserving dinner each evening. Need to know what times shows are currently being done? Thinking 6:30 or 7:00 for dinner. Any comments from those who have been earlier this season? Thx
  10. Suppose it might be easier to claim wine tour in Italy or France than in Alaska!!!
  11. SHUYAK……yes, have used Lifecenters.ca. professional, helpful, easy based in Calgary Canada,. Two people monitored for 25.00 CANADIAN,! Results emailed within 15 minutes of ending. Highly recommended.
  12. HAL staff at the pier have no idea who the signatories are. They just want to see the word “ negative” in the right spot. You are not doing anything suspect at all. Good luck and happy sailing!
  13. Travellight…..why was the Tracy arm excursion cancelled? We are booked mid June…do so hope it happens then! But, now you have a great reason to come again!
  14. My understanding is the official test showing you had a positive test more than 10 days and less than 90 days ago is all you need to fly. Phone your airline to confirm. I know people who have done this. Report back for others! Good luck.
  15. Got the freebee special dinner as part of Have it All. Upon checking my m/ c today I see I was charged for the extra cost of the excursions I chose as well as the 2 person total for the “ included” dinner at Pinnicle. The date and time of this dinner show on my booking. How do I get a refund for this Included cost for the meal? Obviously an error.
  16. Yes. Used lifecenters.ca for alaska. Excellent service and professional staff. Helpful and highly recommended. cost phenomenal! (2 people for 25$ Cdn using freebee BC government test. (green rapid antigen box) results within 15 minutes.
  17. If you are travelling on HAL this rule was relaxed May 19,2022. If you tested positive in a proctored or witnessed test at least 10 days before your cruise, but no more than 90 days before, you only need the original test results to show at boarding. This is on HAL on their TravellWell page of information. NO letter of recovery is needed. NOTE WELL!!!!!!!!!! This information is for HOLLAND AMERICA CRUISES FROM Canada to/ from Alaska only.
  18. Yes, HAL a should have put that tiny word OR in great big letters! That’s why I mentioned it specifically in my note. Have to read the fine print too as they say! Glad you are now set.
  19. Lyndihop........this is a very specific issue for this very specific gentleman. The regular testing is not hard at all. Don’t curtail your cruise in any way,....just ask your TA and get it done! To quote another cc member...easy peasy!
  20. Could another dr or medical worker at your work not sign off your family tests? Takes away the possibility of perceived lack of “ distance”. Just thinking.
  21. So glad some cc people are literate online! Thx for finding and posting Shipshapegirl. When people read it, be sure to read slowly and notice important words like “ or “. We are using our posative tests this mid june after having to cancel 2 days before our cruise of mid May. We both ended up positive and are sooo glad we did…..don’t have to fear that last test again! We both had a long cold…..fine now. Bon voyage. readers, please note…this answer is only for Canada and Alaska trips.
  22. You are absolutely fine. There is no letter of recovery needed. If I knew how to post a photo I could show you the proof. It is on the TravelWell page of HAL and has a pdf file dated May 19/22 update for alaska and Canada info. As long as your positive , proctored, or witnessed test is 10 days or more before you sail, and no longer ago than 90 days you are good to go. it is a bit hard to find on the Travel Well site, (all one word) but just explore around. Or, as most people will want to do, simply phone HAL and put your mind at ease.Really sad there are medical professionals online selling letters of recovery for $119, done virtually with you checking off boxes, when it is a scam.
  23. thanks for the good news message! Delighted you are off to such a good start. Hope Glacier Bay lives up to its delights for you all. Keep well!
