  1. The best way is to join your local library, most now also offer e-books to download to your tablet for free, and you use an app called Libby to download and read them, and the newest books are available.
  2. I would imagine that if you ask your steward he might clean your balcony glass. Although this does now seem to be done by deck by a group of deck hands, but not necessarily when you need it.
  3. My wife is confined to a wheelchair, wich is why we prefer to keep our dining as flexible as possible, and decide our dining time at the last minute. But with lots of empty tables being kept for pre bookings that does add long waiting times to the virtual queuing.
  4. The included flights are non changeable, but I guess P&O would be happy to let you arrange your own return flight.
  5. Or maybe you're 6'6" and built like Jack Reacher, which might also be why you always get great service everywhere..🤣😇
  6. ICF, will you please stop encouraging people to pre book the MDR. The virtual queuing system will never work efficiently as long as pre booking and walk ups are encouraged.🤪
  7. Of course the gratuities are discretionary, so you can cancel them, which since it should be an employers duty to pay a fair wage, would seem to be the way to go to stop this nonesense, for UK cruises at least
  8. Tried it on my phone and the Carnival page only shows the the top 3 or 4 cruise lines, depending on which way you access the perks, and the screen point blank refuses to scroll down at all. But anyway my brokers app will not let me do a screenshot, and has no facility to download a statement showing my isa details. So I shall have to continue asking them to e-mail Carnival requesting my shareholder OBC.
  9. You would still find that Princess, RC and Celebrity, of the ones that I have sailed, still have some sort of formal night. They often now will give it a fancy name, but in reality it is still the old formal night, and I imagine Fred, Ambience, Saga and many others still have a formal night. And most mainstream cruise lines will have reduced their "standards", to match the demands and price sensitivity of their customers.
  10. Quite a lot Sky and TNT sports content is not live either.
  11. If it was a P&O ploy, then they have to congratulated on getting all the mainstream cruise lines to copy them.
  12. I think the Sky sports programme referred to would be Sky Sports News, which is one of the TV channels available on P&O, and most other cruise lines sailing out of the UK.
  13. Those photos are very good, and all the right way up as well, you're obviously a quick learner Enjoy your cruise and I look forward to your further reports.
  14. I think if I am going to the trouble of taking a tuxedo and a dress shirt then I ought to wear a bow tie. If I was going to go lifeless I would need to buy a new tendy collared white shirt and a more trendy looking dinner jacket and trousers.
  15. What about those of us who ask our brokers to send the application, should we continue with this until our broker advises us that they are allowing the app to check our data?
  16. Your experience yesterday was what prompted us to switch to parking4cruises. We had to queue in holding lanes on the majority of our CPS cruises. I just hope this was due to the very high numbers of priority passengers on your cruise, and our Iona cruise in March will be back to normal, since we have switched back to free CPS parking as parking4cruises was now up to £136 for a refundable fare.
  17. Where did you find this please, and did it show Iona's bed height?
  18. I agree entirely, your comparison of the 2 lines mirrors my own, although we have only done 2 RC cruises, Navigator and Independence, but about 20 with P&O. As for the shows, what else would you expect when you go to see We will Rock You, Grease, or any of the other well presented Broadway shows that RC have on board, than the hit show they portray? A lack of loungers or outdoor seating can be a problem, but surely if there is space for more, then reporting this to hotel management might produce more loungers from storage. But I guess getting a problem resolved would reduce the strength of the complaint.😉
  19. If you hated the launch season cruise on Anthem, why on earth did you cruise again on her last year?
  20. Enjoy your cruise, we don't mind sea days, and have found on our Caribbean round trips, that only on the final 3 or 4 sea days do we begin to wish we were back home, and that's mainly because we are getting back to UK winter weather. Eagerly looking forward to your blog.
  21. TBH, I have not seen a honesty table on any of our post covid cruises.
  22. You clearly have not been on a Princess cruise, their "Dine My Way" system is anything but, as far as I am concerned.
  23. I don't mind using a self service till, in fact I find it more convenient when using a basket. However not all supermarket self service till areas are set up for trolley users, and even those that do have trolley tills are not always big enough for a large shop, and I have yet to find one which is as convenient as a manned till.
  24. Since I assume that P&O do not receive a discount on the charter fee for unfilled seats, then why should they offer a discount to passengers wanting to arrange their own flights? Of course if you could guarantee a regular number of own flight sales, possibly via a TA offering cruise and stay, that might be possible, but only if that reduced the number of charter aircraft needed.
