  1. It was the "new" one on Aurora, I cannot remember where I read this info, but it must have been something on board.
  2. Southampton often shows no more than 6 months, as do many other port sites. I guess the frequent changes to port schedules make more than 12 month schedules worthwhile.
  3. I think I read somewhere, pre covid, that the new TVs installed on Aurora were capable of being a wifi booster, probably all modern smart TVs are.
  4. I do think that tipping has now become more accepted as the norm in the UK, especially among younger generations.
  5. It's good to know your grandson is being brought up to appreciate the important things in life!! 👍😉
  6. However everyone requiring an adapted cabin is usually invited to take the test on a cruise that includes s tender port. As another poster said this generally tales place in the aft show lounge.
  7. Is this information online, or on a revised booking confirmation?
  8. You will find that it is a much bigger cabin, they are 50% wider than the standard cabins. The main difference is that the bathroom is a wet room set up, but it is much bigger than the normal teeny bathrooms. I guess the main reason you have been allocated this cabin is probably because there are far fewer passengers needing an adapted cabin on a fly cruise. You probably won't want to go back to the smaller standard cabins once you have experienced the size of these.
  9. Raining quite heavily here now and the temp is 3 deg C. Hopefully the snow will all have gone by the time I need to pop out to our local (150yds away) Sainsburys for some milk.
  10. After all the discussions on here about the new online questionnaire I thought I had better fall into line, so I completed new online forms for all 5 of the cruises we had booked, despite already having completed the old forms, and if I now go into the online questionnaire form it does advise me that I have already completed a form, and the date. However today I received an e-mail about one of them, which reads as though I have not yet completed the new online form. Now if I can find the information that a form exists and when it was done, why on earth cannot P&O passenger services?
  11. It had far less risk than having no operator at all, resulting in major operating losses in this seasons Caribbean fly cruise programme.
  12. There are one or two strange dead ends on Aurora, and for wheelchair users a couple that also end in stairs. I know there are plenty of posters on here that love the old ship, but for us the newer bigger ships, with far more accessible benefits, suit us far better than Aurora.
  13. There is no gratuity uplift on P&O drinks.
  14. If the most expensive one was French, then that does not surprise me. I find New World wines to be far more consistent than the traditional European vineyards.
  15. Because my wife now drinks very little I now buy wine by the glass, and over the last 5 or 6 years I have never had a dodgy one, but I do normally drink red.
  16. With your new hip do take extra care to avoid any icy patches. The early sun has disappeared on our side of Huddersfield and it looks unlikely there will be much of a thaw today.
  17. I agree the prices P&O charge seem too high, but if they had to reduce them all that would happen is that the cruise price would have to increase to cover the lost revenue.
  18. A big Thankyou to @grapau27 for his Sunderlands very generous gift of 3 points to Huudersfield last night, our need is much greater than yours.👍😉
  19. We have the same snow covering and its sunny with blue skies, however the temp is 0 deg feeling like -3 deg.
  20. However I assume it would have been SpaceX rockets that launched the starlink satellites, unless Musk subcontracted it to NASA.
  21. I guess Auroras satellite blew up shortly after take off.🤣
  22. We did a Jan 3rd cruise pre covid, and just about all the decorations had been taken down before we boarded, I think a solitary xmas tree lasted a few days before it too was removed
