  1. The price normally does go down closer to the date, so I often make a booking that can be refunded and then hope to switch to a lower price later on.
  2. We got a 35 night Jan 25 Iona cruise for £50pp in October last year, plus the launch 10% discount.
  3. Have I dreamt it, or are there new deposits for on board bookings, I thought it saw £50pp for cruises up to 14 days, £100pp up to 35 days and £150 pp over that.
  4. OMG perhaps I am to blame, I always collect 2 meals, as my wife uses a wheelchair, maybe my caring attentions have caused the trays to be shelved, how can I ever live this down.? 😉😎
  5. Indeed, the P&O dinner plates are about the size of our dessert plates, and a healthy young male would probably need two of those to equal what he could fit on one of our dinner plates.
  6. I would guess that the Dutch Antilles islands drive on the right, but although I have been to Aruba I cannot remember which side they drove on.
  7. I agree but even today google maps has it as the fastest route even though it is much longer, and it is far easier and more straightforward than going through the town, and a heck of a lot fewer traffic lights.
  8. I keep reading about the benefits on the unofficial forum on the umentionable social media site. But without an electric vehicle I doubt that we could switch enough of our usage to off peak times to benefit from any of the various tariffs they offer, and it would be just my luck for the wholesale price to suddenly increase if I did switch to the tracker.
  9. Why not I always stay at the airport PI, and use the M27 and M271 route especially to Mayflower terminal. It may not be the shortest or even the quickest route, but it is the most straightforward.
  10. Not me, we generally have breakfast 9:45 to 10;15 when it is at its fullest. We use the buffet less often at lunchtime, so I accept that we have less information about lunchtime habits.
  11. Enjoy your cruise Andy, I hope you and Michelle have a wonderful time.
  12. Being a veteran of nearly 40 cruises I can honestly say, that the number of buffet passengers I have seen pile too much food on their plates can be counted on not much more than one hand. I know that this is widely reported, but these greedy passengers must go out of their way to avoid being in the buffet when I am there.
  13. It would be difficult to load fried eggs, baked beans, and scrambled eggs onto your plate using just your own cutlery, as well as very slow for everyone stuck behind you in the queue.
  14. Has the BBC weather page been hacked or are we really in for an arctic blast next week, with daytime temps no higher than 8 deg C?
  15. Is that according to Paul Ludlow?😉😇
  16. TBH that's not really surprising, any experienced cruiser, or CC poster, will always select their cabin with the knowledge they have gained from early mistakes and the wealth of information garnered from more experienced CC posters. Thus the best cabins will sell out first, leaving the dodgy ones to be allocated to saver fares, or upgrade seakers.
  17. Your grandmother (generic not personal) probably only lived to be 65-70, whereas you could now expect to live well into your 80s. Maybe if she had known about the health benefits of bamboo fibre she might have lived longer?
  18. Bamboo fibre in processed foods is safe, according to Mr Google, and in fact in gluten free foods it could be beneficial, and I would expect that all food additives have to to be approved by the FDA or similar.
  19. Have you tried Free Spirit from P J Hayman, they specialise in risky medical conditions, but even they will probably be over £1000 for a 14 night cruise for a couple.
  20. That sounds more likely, the EU probably only needs confirmation that each ship has not left anyone behind, or am I assuming too much in expecting that the EU has suddenly developed common sense? 😁
  21. Moley if I were you I would stop digging, the hole you're in is just getting deeper.😉
