  1. Reading all these posts and seeing the prices makes me grateful that we wont need to bother bidding for an upgrade. A standard accessible cabin, even the Excel class ones which are smaller than most of the rest of the fleet, are roomy enough for us, so we are more than happy to stay put.
  2. Only a minority, most will fly in and out on the changeover day.
  3. As has been intimated, P&O could be waiting for confirmation of any cancellation by the port authorities before they confirm any alternative arrangements.
  4. My Canadian relatives have booked cruises with a UK TA, when they came on cruises with us. It might be worth your while to phone 1 or 2 of the big online cruise specialists, but the price will be fixed in sterling and subject to the exchange rate when you pay the deposit and balance. .
  5. You have more faith in P&Os IT systems than is warranted from a long term member of this forum. 😉
  6. There are no problems, only the discussions on social media that lead passengers to believe that they need to pre book everything, otherwise their holiday will be ruined.
  7. Josy is currently on Sky Princess so, presumably because they will have a lot of American guests who hate queues, they make sure the embarkation process runs more smoothly.
  8. The virtual queue system will enable you to book the restaurant of your choice at any time you are ready to eat, with very little waiting time until you're advised your table is ready, and hardly any queue when you reach the restaurant. So there really is no need to worry about pre booking, that's how Freedom Dining should work. .
  9. If 300 people played every time it was on, then they were obviously happy to be ripped off.
  10. I was referring to the Broadway shows that are on the RCI ships, like Grease on Indy. You seem to be stuck on the Jersey boys that you saw, that were flown in for 2 or 3 nights, just like every other theatre act on any cruise ship. They probably hopped off the RCI ship you were on and performed next, on any of all the cruise lines that have theatres and entertainers. Whether or not any of them were Broadway show singers I have no idea, we have watched Drifter number 49 (I think that's what he said he was) and countless others who claimed to have done this that there or the other. None of which is really relevant, only whether we enjoyed their show or not, which in some cases could be influenced by how many glasses of wine we had for dinner before the show.
  11. It looks very much as though the instruments were merely props, to give the impression that they could play them. Most of the videos of the 4 seasons hits that we saw on TV were instrument free.
  12. The bigger ships are trying to mainly use the virtual queuing system, which is probably the best and fairest for passengers, and most sensible for the restaurant managers to minimise queueing.
  13. For every Broadway or West End show cast, there are several hundred put together by agents to work in the tourist industry in cruise ships, hotels, casinos and the like. I doubt that many if any of the RCI show casts are Broadway standard. That's not to say that they are not very good singers and dancers, but for every West End cast member there are hundreds if not thousands plying their trade in the tourist industry.
  14. Why not send them to the buffet with the girls, while you two enjoy a romantic date night in the MDR or a speciality restaurants.
  15. Are you sure that the Grease cast leave the ship after 2 nights, that would mean they would have to keep flying them back and forth to the ship, which would be far more expensive than if they stayed on the ship?
  16. But it is much easier and faff free to sell shares held by a nominee company than those held on certificate.

  18. We have also seen a 4 seasons tribute act on P&O that were excellent, but mainly because we love the music, however I have no idea what their names were. We also saw Grease on Indy and again, because we know and love the music, it was very enjoyable, but the day we saw it, some of the cast seemed to be having an off day, and they struggled with the continuity. On the same cruise they had a Beatles tribute act in the theatre, and we have also seen the same group on P&O. It seems that many of the same acts do the rounds of most of the ships that cruise from Southampton.
  19. My insurance company agent recently commented that having insurance in place when you pay the balance is more than adequate to provide full cover.
  20. If isolation on board is an adequate means of preventing passengers from passing on infections, then surely the same applies to crew members.
  21. I assume the coaches are provided by Intercruises, not sure whether they have wheelchair access, however I understand that Eavseway do, but only room for one wheelchair space alongside the driver.
  22. What is the food in Green & Co, is it just sushi?
  23. But only if you like rubbery tiger prawns!!!
  24. If you use an on line travel agent they should have easy access to all this info.
  25. Sky Princess came in early, missing her last 2 ports to avoid the stormy weather.
